Why put a valve at the expansion tank? I've never seen that

@robertshelton3796 Good question! Many times, there are old style gate valves before the air tank or expansion tank. For an air tank, it is required so you can drain your tank without draining the whole system. With an expansion tank, it is helpful so you don't expose any air into the system when you replace the tank. It just makes everything easier to work on.

Yea, we should remove the handle when done but the next guy will like it. We try to isolate everything for the next guy so it is bang bang to replace things
