A huge help since the practices are coming up in a couple of weeks, been practicing at home but it’s not the same without a partner. Really do hope that my friends will be surprised and that I have improved.

Tom, it's a joy to watch you struggle against these high quality serves :D I feel it because I imagine myself in your shoes.

Honestly, it's a nightmare facing Craig's serves. He is so deceptive. When I start doubting what spin is on the ball, then bad things happen!

Request for video----Topic---The difference between tennis swings and table tennis swings---So many table tennis players are or were tennis players, but the techniques are different. Tennis is more of a full swing while table tennis is more about wrist and spin. I have not seen a video on youtube on this issue.

Probably depends on the style and the stage of a point. If you're in a short-distance pushing match, definitely wrist and forearm. If you're in a long distance counterlooping rally, probably more shoulder/biceps than wrist. In my brief experience with tt and regular tennis, I find that looping from tt translates to topspin shots in tennis really well.

Have you seen anyone who has normal rubber on the BH and Long pips on the FH? One person in my club plays with this style...
@paulbourdess925
@paulbourdess925 5 жыл бұрын
Yes. I actually played like that, I had prior wrist and shoulder injuries that prevented a proper forehand swing. It works well at lower levels, but against tougher opponents it really starts to limit you.

@@paulbourdess925 were all of your serves backhand serves?
@paulbourdess925
@paulbourdess925 5 жыл бұрын
@@TIEWCINDY no, I played around with variations on tomahawk serves (I could hit into the ball hard enough to make the pips bend and put spin on) and could also pull off very low, fast, no spin serves to the corners.

I find it hard to consistently let the ball bounce on my side of the table (same length). When I focus on the spin how do I also take care of the bounce?
@craigyb22
@craigyb22 5 жыл бұрын
Marc Uijterwijk Place a towel(s) on your side of the table, leaving the right part of the table exposed, if you hit the towel you have a clear signal that it was in the wrong place. Good luck with your practice.
