You have two serves. What serves should you do to put your opponent under maximum pressure? There are so many options. But are there any combinations which work particularly well together?
Yes! Most definitely.
In this video, top coach and service expert, Craig Bryant, explains how to do effective service combinations. The examples Craig gives are...
- Short to the backhand / long to the forehand
- Short backspin / short no spin
- Sidespin with backspin / sidespin with topspin
Craig gives some tips on how use these combinations to create confusion and win some cheap points or set up easy third ball attacks.

Honestly, it's a nightmare facing Craig's serves. He is so deceptive. When I start doubting what spin is on the ball, then bad things happen!

Request for video----Topic---The difference between tennis swings and table tennis swings---So many table tennis players are or were tennis players, but the techniques are different. Tennis is more of a full swing while table tennis is more about wrist and spin. I have not seen a video on youtube on this issue.

Probably depends on the style and the stage of a point. If you're in a short-distance pushing match, definitely wrist and forearm. If you're in a long distance counterlooping rally, probably more shoulder/biceps than wrist. In my brief experience with tt and regular tennis, I find that looping from tt translates to topspin shots in tennis really well.

I find it hard to consistently let the ball bounce on my side of the table (same length). When I focus on the spin how do I also take care of the bounce?

Marc Uijterwijk Place a towel(s) on your side of the table, leaving the right part of the table exposed, if you hit the towel you have a clear signal that it was in the wrong place. Good luck with your practice.

Have you seen anyone who has normal rubber on the BH and Long pips on the FH? One person in my club plays with this style...
@paulbourdess925
@paulbourdess925 4 жыл бұрын
Yes. I actually played like that, I had prior wrist and shoulder injuries that prevented a proper forehand swing. It works well at lower levels, but against tougher opponents it really starts to limit you.

@paulbourdess925

@@TIEWCINDY no, I played around with variations on tomahawk serves (I could hit into the ball hard enough to make the pips bend and put spin on) and could also pull off very low, fast, no spin serves to the corners.
