SERVICING A FORD FIESTA 1.0 ECOBOOST (2013-2017)

In this episode I show you how I serviced my 1.0 petrol Ford Fiesta mk7, a bit messier than normal but hope this helps anyone.

Good video to watch. I do this on my 2014 Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost every year regardless of how many annual miles I have done (generally 600-1100 miles annually) . Partly due to the fact it's easy to do, and relatively cheap also. Although I tend to drain the oil first, leave the sump plug out then take off the oil filter. I lube the sump plug as well.

Im no expert, but please drain first the Oil, wait a bit, and then change the oil filter. Thats less of a mess. Experience in the industrie shows that especially on this engine its very important to use the exact Oil indicated by Ford, otherwise you gonna get in trouble with the timing belt. Then please close bullets on the airfilter with handtools.

No need any oil is good long as 5w20 gr8 job change evry 5k best.Motorkote is gr8 additive for oil if you want it last very long time or extralube zx1

Nice one mate. Shouldn't you have emptied the sump before all that muck you got from removing the filter? Good straightforward video though mate!👍

Just about to say that... always drain sump first, preferably with oil filler cap off as well to aid circulation! How do you rate these engines? Have heard some horror stories with the Ecoboost Wet Belt setup, currently looking at a 155 mhev Fiesta, recommend it??! @@BTR_REBUILD

Normally turbo shits itself at 70k I’ve heard, join the Facebook group ‘Ford ecoboom’ or something along those lines. But they are good cars

@@GENERATORGRC wrong ! Do not put 5w40 in the 1l ecoboost you’ll destroy the belt. 5w20 only ! Castrol Magnatec recommended by ford 👍

@@GENERATORGRC The ecoboost has a wet belt which means the belt runs in the engines oil. Using the wrong oil accelerates the degredation of the belt and the bits of belt fall into the sump which blocks the oil pickup, starving the engine
