Bruce I GUARANTEE you're going to regret putting that Valvoline 15w40 in that engine. You HAVE to have something with extremely high zinc ppm numbers and a weight like a 20w50 or a straight 50w. All that spring pressure and a flat tappet cam with regular 15w40 will destroy it. I really hate to come off as an internet know it all but I blew up a couple Cummins pulling engines using regular 15w40. We use Brad Penn SAE 50 now exclusively in both the injection pump and engine.

The old gas can are way better than these new gas cans I work for a garbage company and everytime someone throw an old gas can away I take them home and clean them out make sure there isn’t no leaks

That fuel can with the vent is a spout & vent kit from tractor supply. High flow pour spout and a vent fits most cans. Things are great.

My dad had a metal gas can, with a metal flexible spout that was made to the cap. That’s what I used to fill the lawnmower.

Bruce, take a nail punch or 🪛 and you poke a hole in the bottom of the oil filter and it will drain as you unscrew it so you don't get oil on your hands

Run some Schaeffer’s Oil and I guarantee you, you will feel a huge difference just from oil. Brad Penn is good oil aswell I actually live about an hour away in Pennsylvania.

Pre fill filters through the small holes. When you pour it into the big hole it’s unfiltered oil/fuel going into your engine/pump

Puller tires will make a big difference and good call to worry about the offset but i would also suggest to weigh each tire cause if you get a difference of a few lbs from one to the other it will throw the tractor off balance. I had a light weight alky super that had a difference of 20 lbs between 2 tires and it was a freak to ride it on any track

I bought two filters from advanced auto for my ford ranger and both had factory defects that wouldn’t let oil flow through and if it wasn’t for the lifters being load I wouldn’t have known because it showed oil pressure on the gauge only thing I could figure was the pressure sensor was before the filter when I took the filter off the was under pressure even after it hadn’t been running long enough for me to crawl under and take it off the store sent them back and gave me the expensive filter for free after I came back the second time
