Servicing The 1986 Kenmore 60 Series, Part 2 - Transmission Repair, New Drain Pump/Motor Coupler

Part 2 of this series shows the disassembly & reassembly of the transmission and replacement of the oil seal in the top cover, as well as the arrival of the new drain pump and motor coupler. Installation of those parts will be shown later in the series.

Nice job with the transmission! Based on videos I have seen, a good oil level is when it is halfway to 3/4 of the way up the agitate gear, which it looks like you did. Good call on putting some on top of the spin gear too.

Thanks! I figured the level was probably optimal at just below the edge of the lower casing, maybe a _tad_ less. I'm trying to remember who it was I saw do that with the oil all over the spin gear, but figures, it helps anyways!

Great video! I'm going to change out the oil in my 96 Kenmore's gearcase. Probably will just use the genuine WP oil. I know brake cleaner works very well too.
