I was about to book mine in for a new clutch because I couldn't get any gears but the guy said it's prob just dry gear cables & after simply pulling back the knob sock & squirting some WD-40 down the cables it was good as new. Great cars so cheap to run, fix & so practical 😊

Well done Sion a great video and the Picasso is getting better all the time. I am used to the petrol versions as we’ve had 3 at home including a spit of that a Sahara gold 1.6SX same year! Hope it gets many more miles under its belt Daniel

To grease the check strap just remove the speaker grill (prises off) and undo the bolts on the speaker itself, and then get some thickish spray grease onto the roller bearings inside the door where the strap enters. Hey presto - nice quiet door and it won't seize breaking the strap.

Oh that door clunk brings back memories! I’m really intrigued by the throttle pedal, I never really thought anything of it and just assumed it was how a half million mile diesel throttle 😂

Great video & relatively straight forward to service, nice fresh air & the new air filter & properly secured fuel filter will hopefully help fuel economy & along with your fantastic accelerator fix, improve performance

A lot / most cars that dont have any terrible design flaw can make it to that mileage... if they are reasonably well taken care of. But perhaps thats what you meant, surprise that it wasnt driven into the ground by previous owners. In that regard I can only agree.

I have a 1.6HDI and I find the Cab filter easy to do . I guess also the trick is to have small hands /Do not do the 3 bolts up too tight .I am also left handed which is the side the cabin filter is on .@@nelsonthekinger

Thanks for sharing this video it's really useful. Just had a look at my picasso and on the top of the fuel filter I notice mine doesn't have the green electrical plug attached well nowhere to be seen! Is that important?

I’m really sorry but I can’t exactly remember now. But I think the electrical connector is a fuel pre-heater possibly, used for cold climates. It makes no practical difference, so don’t worry too much

There’s a channel on here based in Holland where they invite customers super high mileage cars to their mot equivalent garage. It’s fascinating. Many many cars that are crticised are there with 500m kilometres. Still running still being used as daily’s. Many psa cars. Theres is one on a 1 million kilometre 1.9d berlingo. I am a diyer and service my families cars yearly. Many over 100k without any problems whatsoever

Great job mate. How do I turn off the engine fault warning on the citreon xsara picasso? Car runs fine they won't pass my mot without turning it off.

In Australia we don't have cabin filters maybe the airs better in Australia as for the Citreon Xsara Picasso to achieve 500000 plus miles in any car the air filter and cabin filter and diesel definitely needed changing and the Bulldog penertrating oil did a good job on the throttle cable and there is another british you tuber who swears by it l do not known if we get it in Australia maybe we have less rusty nuts and bolts we have WD40 getting back to the Zsara Picasso the mileage it has achieved is very good although there are a couple of Toyotas that have achived a bit more and have sold in Australia one 2002 Coralla sold with 980000kms on it also a 1997 Hilux sold with the same amount of kilometers on it and l sm just wondering if the Xsara Picasso will travel another 500000 miles because l know if another Toyota Corolla in New Zealand that has done over 2000000 kms on its original engine and gearbox which is about 1200000 miles and l know of a Honda in the USA that has just over 1000000 miles so the cars are out there l am a Toyota fan boy you could say that l do like Citreons because they used to things differently the DS a perfect example of the most unusual car ever made next to the 2CV and this video was made before Hubnut got it and he has passed it on to another you tuber a bit of a Citreon expert
