In all those other clips it just shows a few seconds, that doesn't really prove anything other than a kid was ignored at that time. Is there video that shows the same mascot consistently doing it during the same parade? We don't see the rest of the parade where they could've done the same thing to Yt kids. People are just so quick to label everything as ray cist. Which is why so many people doubt the claims when they hear it. You can only cry wolf so many times.
@Pawsandtales3212 жыл бұрын
Yea that’s right. The person playing Rosita was seen doing that hand gesture many times throughout the parade. She said some people were wanting the characters to hold their babies for a picture and they are not allowed…. The mother who was behind the mother of the two little girls being one of them. So she did that hand gesture as if saying sorry not allowed. I’m sure white kids were overlooked too as they can’t stop at everyone but no one notices or thinks anything about that. Do you really think seasame street would risk their reputation by so blatantly just overlooking black children ? Of course not. It’s all a misunderstanding as a lot of things are. I am sure the children were upset as any kid would be and it prob hurt the mom seeing the hurt look on her kids face but that doesn’t mean the gesture was directed at them or racist in any way. Many people are saying the character looked directly at them but the character was just facing that way, in that costume you can’t tell where the actual person was looking.

@@brittanywilliams8653 it wasn’t even proven if that was from the same parade. It’s just as bad to blame the person playing this character of being racist when that may not be true. Imagine having all this hate coming at you and being accused of things that aren’t true over a misunderstanding? If someone wants to scream racist they need real proof and not assumptions. This character WAS seen doing this hand gesture through the parade so it’s not an excuse. People should not be so quick to judge but take a step back and think on it and see if maybe this was a misunderstanding after all. I did mascot work for a few days at Dorney park when I was 21 years old. They were understaffed and they just needed bodies for a few days. Long story short, I wore the Crash Bandicoot costume because it was a huge gimmicky costume that only a fit person could wear. A female coordinator was with me at all times to give me instructions in real time. They do follow a strict pattern of rules. The coordinator's job is Security/Instructor. She basically treated me like a puppet telling me what to do and when to do it. I was fine with it because she was the expert, not me. With so many people walking around, you are just better off letting the pros handle it. Some of their rules are if adults want to interact, only do it face to face and only touch their shoulders, nothing else. You can barely see while wearing the costume, so you could accidently side slap a woman's boob if you get too touchy. Kids, only tap their heads, that's all. If people want a photo, the coordinator has to do the setup and they do it very quick snapping to get everyone moving. You don't pick up kids in your arms because the costume material is very slippery. The video here is a float parade. They have everything timed and orchestrated. The costume people can't stop for photos because it disrupts the parade movement. They have everything timed to every millisecond. They have to move from point A to B, then they all take a water/food/bathroom break, then do it again and again in a loop all day. If it makes you feel any better, that line of work is brutal, long, and the pay is nothing, as in single digits. There's no way one person can get by on what they pay. I only did it as a quick pocket money weekend gig. I didn't even know I was going to be wearing a costume. I just simply got a call to go there to earn quick money. And I would never EVER do that kind of work ever again. I would much rather beg for money than do that kind of work.

To all the simple minded mfs in the comments: 1. The character clearly saw the children, saw there hands out, and ignored them. 2. Rosita specifically did this 3 times in this same parade. The one in the video wasn’t even the most apparent one. 3. Other characters in the park were doing the same thing 4. No white families have uploaded videos of their white kids being ignored, and I doubt any of them have any videos of it. 5. Stop accusing racism just because it happens all the time in other parks, just because it happens a lot doesn’t mean it’s ok. 6. You gotta realize that they’re little kids, their hearts are fragile and when they get ignored meanwhile everyone else doesn’t, they’re gonna feel awful. 7. Sesame Street themselves are not responsible, you cannot change someone’s views on something just because you put them through the training to do so. This isn’t Sesame Street’s fault and more so the costume character’s fault themselves. 8. Sure it’s hard to see out those costumes but when you have 3 cases of ignoring black children in the same show, it can’t just be a coincidence.

They didn't get "passed over", they were clearly told "No" after high fiving the adult right in front of them
@msnandimarie70232 жыл бұрын
Ok that may be true, but others have submitted videos from that same parade and EVERY Black child was ignored. One girl was hit in the face by a character and toddler was bumped and knocked down by a character. Please explain that. Thank you

No apologies for this racist move. I have never seen a character treat children in this racist manner. Every child should be acknowledged with a smile, high five, something. You don't treat children in this manner, especially when a character is known to be fun, loving to children. As stupid as it might seem or feel. There are still people stupid enough to be racist at a time when laws discourage racist. The only way to make it heard out loud to those stupid people is to sue them. Nobody wants to be sued, like nobody wants to be treated racially.

How do you know the race of the character? Was it a racist Asian? Whatever race you guess of the character would be systematic racism right

Why did the person dressed in the costume wave his/her finger at someone, right before saying no to the two little girls? Hmmm? The person in the costume is at fault- not the character Rosita. She’s a good character on Sesame Street, please don’t get rid of her! Sesame Street isn’t to blame.

Yes the employee is at fault. Sesame street has raised my children and there 40 . That stupid employee 🤬

What has the world come to where every little thing is called racist….. i highly doubt the character was like oh no black kids… and the fact they got a Attroney. The parents are literally the definition of Karens that pull the race card for anything
