I like to experiment with deck building myself, so I highly appreciate you coming up with an unorthodox deck and even playing at set champs with it. Very nice build and budget-friendly! Also like that you're not afraid to show your own misplays. Haha shuffling during the mulligan before drawing my remaining carda happened to me as well during my set champs 😂😂 opponent was chill with it though. It's usually more a disadvantage for me. Running into Robin Hood Shift plus Grab Your Sword can happen too! Sometimes we focus on so many plays that we forget the most obvious one. PS: my fun deck choice in the emerald ruby combination was a "don't touch me" build where the opponent is punished for attacking me (merfolk, Flynn, Cruella, Kusco, Hydra, Lyle, Eric) while being forced to attack (Lyle, Jaq)

Ditto, greatly appreciate the competitive budget decks, would love to have a whole channel dedicated to this! Makes for a healthier meta too, you are solely responsible for the rise of A/S Decks doing well in tournaments and making a more diverse meta. So many players just copy the top decks when there is so much room to be creative.

You could play x1 Diablo for Hidden Cove but honestly I don't like Diablo that much in this deck. I wouldn't consider playing more than 2 of them! But I do think slotting in Diablo is a solid option

33:45 she could play maui and wipe the pegasus (he is evasive because of shadow's effect). I wonder if she preferred to keep the maui for be prep. Then, bouncing maui instead of shadow a turn before was a very big mistake wasnt it?

I woke up today a bit early before set champs and saw this video. I made the deck (more or less with some of my own changes, skimmed through the video briefly) and got top 8 going 4-1 in Swiss never playing the deck before. Underexplored color combo. Lost in top 8 but better than I've done playing meta.

There are a lot of unknowns still regarding Shimmering Skies, but Sapphire and Steel are getting a lot of good cards so I could definitely see Sapphire/Steel remaining a top deck in the meta. As of right now it's already a pretty even matchup against Ruby/Amethyst, and we don't know yet either if Ruby/Amethyst will remain as a top deck (I predict it won't if it can't deal with objects).

At minute 33 the opponent could have played Maui and challenged pegasus since Pan's shadow gives Maui evasive. They just passed instead. What am I missing?

Both players are tracking lore on paper. Speci has previously commented that adjustment was granted by the judge for electronic lore solely for viewers on KZbin! But both players are still tracking lore on paper :)

I actually was not (I probably should) & encouraged my opponent to track on paper but round 1 opponent had a lore counter.
