He makes strong points and makes you realize what you need to change and improve in yourself and marketing strategies. Good stuff.

the irony is to notice and realize how lil tupac turned out to be the biggest marketer without permission... literally, no preference or want for her servings yet she keeps pushing her stuff without me asking her for any of it and since I don't like those topics, naturally I won't respond positively, ... so she needs to watch these videos herself... There is no "art of marketing". Art is creative and open-ended. Craft is derivative and repetitive, and done according to strict protocols. When an artist seeks to market his or her original art, he or she becomes a marketer. Marketing is a craft. Not an art. Time spent marketing is time spent away from creating art. You can't do both at the same time. So an artist has to stop doing art in order to market. In other words, any time devoted to marketing is time stolen from your art. Stop lying to people in order to push an utterly false narrative, one that glorifies money over art.

Here's one iteration of my several blogs on topic: I have the pleasure to be KZbin's least watched Creator. I don't mind; my purpose is to create art, original-not derivative-and that makes me part of an elite cadre: those who are artists first and capitalists second. Feedback from my content is personal and two way. I can interact with my viewer base in a manner that does not take me away from my great strength: creation of original art. But I would never take someone else's idea of what to do with my original creative ventures. No one has that power over me and never will. I am functionally invisible to corporate sponsorship. And I like it that way. The more you're like other people (the more you allow your creativity to be directed by someone else's strategy or vision, in other words), the less you stand out from the pack. The less interesting you are. The farther you get from what makes you original, the more you begin to blend back into the background. No thanks. The next big thing in entertainment will not come from corporate sponsored imitators. It'll come from guys like me, original creators, original thinkers. Guys for whom the art is much more important than the buyer's desire for a specific style or existing motif. In other words, if you're doing it for the money, you're not an artist. You're a marketer, and your creativity will be subsumed into the fight to gain sponsors, not to create new art. Artists create art BECAUSE THEY MUST. We're driven to it. It is our souls crying out to infinity, not an open wallet struggling to be filled.
