If you factor in prep time Hidan’s blood ritual is EXTREMELY OP. Similar to a Light Yagami all he would need is a sample of someone’s blood from a distance and he wins. Tactically he was incredibly misused. He should have never left base. The Akatsuki could have brought back samples of blood of anyone they can’t defeat, and they would’ve won pretty easily.

I was thinking the same thing better yet. The Akatsuki should have planted under cover doctors in each village. They get the blood samples of high ranking officials- Hokages- high jonins etc People that would cause any trouble and eliminate them on the spot. And Diedara can mass produce nuclear level bombs, fly up in the air and drop them on each village or Obito’s teleports them to their location which is more efficient. The Akatsuki would be unstoppable.

Zetsu, for me, is at least in the top 3 - due to his tactical IQ, his ability to create several "white" clones to fight for him & also how he is advising Kaguya during her battle with Sasuke & Naruto (althrough she still loses, she probably would have lost quicker without him) He also succesfully manipulates Madara, which in itself, is highly impressive given Madara's background. Sorry for potentially bad spelling, I'm a Danish fan ;-)

I have a pretty interesting theory regarding Black Zetsu tbh. I think Zetsu was Kaguya's concious mind or "ego" that was separate from her. In the final battle Kaguya didn't seem like she was "all there" if you know what I mean. Zetsu was calling all the shots and she simply just followed his orders. I'm pretty sure that Zetsu is Kaguya's failed attempt at creating a Kama and that she separated the core parts of her personality and funneled them into Zetsu. That would make sense as to why she acts the way she does - she is not "complete".

It's not plot armor just cause things haven't been explained before. Lightning style defusing Earth style was a cool thing to add, and on top of that, Sasuke having the sharingan really made it so that dediara couldn't ever really pull one over on him. And the escape wasn't even plot armor, he legit summoned manda, got in his mouth, and then desummoned him while manda straight up tanked the blast. It's not plot armor for manda to be strong, we already knew that. And sasuke had the contingency set up that as soon as he needed as escape, suigetsu would summon manda. Overall, very little plot armor. I would say the only plot armor is the fact that after all the fighting, Sasuke shouldn't have been in any condition to summon manda so fast, but its a small complaint

And Obito was implied to be even stronger than Pain. And you could argue Obito has even better genjutsu than Itachi since he was able to casually control the nine tails at 14 with just one base sharingan and he also put a perfect jinchuriki in a genjutsu for years which is something that has been stated to be impossible. He can teleport away to retreat, sure but In blood listed combat I assume pain blows him up or takes the souls out of him. Itachi Tsukiyomi’s or burns him to death with Amaterasu, or does some crazy mirror jutsu. Obito is a big more complicated because he relies on white zetsu for some of his power, but suppose he doesn’t and has the 10 tailed jinchuuriki form or the rinnegan, if he can do what pain did he should win. Maybe putting Zetsu below B is a mistake though.

It’s kinda crazy ice abilities were rarely used, if at all. Besides the mirror technique (which was very lame for a kekkai gengai) it could be super Op if used right like blizzard attacks, freezing etc

Very good observations. Probably the most accurate and most well argumented. Considering it's the original Akatsuki and from first encounter. I love this anime unconditionaly. But some of the fights and rumors around Akatski is also leading up to introducing these monsters. Like Sasori defeating 3rd Kazekage without a sweat maintaining his shell just walking away from the village. If he really was that strong, it would make no sense he didn't just kill everyone expect his grandma on the spot. And there is a lot of these exampels. But anyway well done list!

Totally agree about pain! The whole reason why I think the Naruto vs. Pain fight was THE greatest fight and point of the whole series (for me in the whole world of anime) was because Pian was considerably stronger than Naruto! Naruto needed to outsmart him in order to win (and have some luck as well). I remember I caught up to the series right at the attack of Konoha and it was the hardest thing for me like ever to be patient and wait for the upciming episodes.
