Ned from Spain stopping in to watch the lovely and extra special Sade. When the 80's were filled with screechy excruciating pop idols dressed like clowns trying to out sexy each other Sade came along with her /their sophisticated cool sound and it was a sweet relief. Sade was the soundtrack to my early days with the love of my life - and we’re still together and continue to listen to their music. You said it correctly that this was a breath of fresh air to the music scene when it came out. As mentioned, they have so many great tunes but a standout is ‘Is It A Crime’ with its unique arrangement. The band also recorded without Sade singing as the group Sweetback, worth checking out. Helen Folasade Adu CBE, known professionally as Sade Adu or simply Sade, is a Nigerian-British singer and lead vocalist of her band Sade. Sade Adu was born in Ibadan, British Nigeria, and was brought up in England from the age of four. She studied at Saint Martin's School of Art in London and gained modest recognition as a fashion designer and part-time model before joining the band Pride in the early 1980s.
