Gar is some of the best tasting fresh water fish I’ve probably ever eaten it has a incredible taste and the texture is like chicken. If you’re ever feeling adventurous you should definitely give it a try. Keep up the amazing content and nothing but love brother❤

One of the very best things to knock down the foam in your bait tank is powdered nondairy creamer. Just a little sprinkle is all it takes and all the foam goes away. It doesn't harm your bait either.

Hi Micah, doing a great job. We fish the Missouri River all the time for big flatheads. We use the same tackle how ever we use fiberglass poles to stick in the bank with the line a bait hanging off of them. Super fun fishing. Love the vid, and good luck.

Also I would recommend finding where some current meets still/ slower moving water. Put the bait in the slower water, fast current will be hard on the bait. And it will make it easier for fish to eat.

Fish when the water is like chocolate milk. When the water is super dirty gar can’t see the bait so you won’t catch them. When water is clear the gar will shred your bait before the catfish can find it.

Micha try to use 4/0 or larger circle hooks when you are setting bush lines or jug lines for catfish....my friends and I use 7/0 circle hooks when setting bush lines here in Southeast Louisiana.

4 fish, 12 lines, makes 1/ 3 or 33 1/3% catch ratio. If you take out the gar, your hookup ratio for catfish would be just shy of 17%. Having said that, I must say those are some cute kids you have there young man.

Careful with that shad keeper stuff. When I worked at a local bait shop I'd put 2 tablespoons full for a 150 gal tank. Over use it and it can actually kill your bait but if done right you can have live bait last for at least a month
