Got yourself a good worker in Tina, I'm sure the day the concrete is poured will be a happy day. 😊

Sure she is. And yes, once the concrete is done the weather won’t be as concerning.

Will you be adding rebar to the sonic tubes? It would definitely help strengthen them especially the ones that are out of the ground so far.
@TriStarHomestead11 ай бұрын
No rebar in the footers. We are using wet set brackets and the bottoms of those are rebar. The slab will be poured over the footers and then it will also be graded around the house site so the footers will not be visible at all.

I was looking at getting the LAR160 laser that you had. What was the main reason you didn't like it? Was it the lack of showing exact measurements on the receiver? Thanks.
@TriStarHomestead11 ай бұрын
I kind of wish I kept it long enough to do a full review/comparison video but alas, I did not. I feel like the LAR160 was just mediocre as a whole. The lack of exact measurements was a big one but for the price they ask, I was extremely disappointed in it. The Bosch one that is similar to the 350 is about the same price as the 160 and probably what I would go with instead of the 160. I just wanted the 350 from the get go and knew if I got the Bosch I wouldn’t be totally happy. We rented a dewalt from Home Depot as well and that compares to the 160 and is like 400. Downside to the dewalt is it’s in tenths of a foot on the grade stick. I know that’s not exact reasons but it’s kind of hard to describe why I didn’t like just overall disappointed in it.

Sounds like me, I want to get the 350 but I have been looking for a cheaper one that is comparable. Sounds like I should just bite the bullet and get the 350!

If you want the 350 I don’t think you’ll be happy with the 160. If you can get past the price, you’ll love it. The ease of use is so nice. Also has a remote control to control the laser itself from a distance. I haven’t used it but can see that being handy when we get to the inside stuff.

I appreciate the content, but I am totally lost on what you are going to build. From the tubes you are setting, it looks like you are going to build a skyscraper 🥺

It's a barndominium. They mention it in multiple previous videos.
@TriStarHomestead11 ай бұрын
As stated above, we are building a barndo. Our ground is far from level so once we get the structure up we will grade the perimeter of the house site. We don’t need to have it completely level and graded prior to throwing up the building with post frame.

I understand a barndominium, my question is how heavy is it going to be for those size posts.
@TriStarHomestead11 ай бұрын
The posts are 3 ply laminated 2x6’s. I drilled the holes slightly bigger than needed to allow more room when setting brackets. As for weight, I’m unsure, we bought an engineered building so I’m not worried about weight.
