*I love it **enjoyable.fishing** recommend I’m using it for my 1.0 Crankbaits and small Jerkbait. Paired with my Assassin. Works great, feels great. Would definitely recommend this setup.*

Wow just seeing this out of the box kzbin.infoUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.

That was a great video, i grew up and my father still lives right across from a very small but also very productive creek, (butternut creek in central new york). I am 53 and have fished all my life , just never fly rod. I plan to really give it a good try, Thanks.

Thank you so much. I've already watched a few videos here on KZbin and found them quite boring and I didn't really quite understand what they were saying. This video was totally different. I completely got everything you said and understood everything. Now it's 3:30 am here in Texas so sadly I can't watch more of these videos but I will definitely will be watching the rest of you're videos tomorrow. Thank you and God Bless.

Scientific Anglers had 6wt 9' kits with everything you need including a fly. That's how I got started and I still use that setup today years later. I liked it so well I picked up the same kit in 9wt for saltwater and those large bass in heavy cover here in the south. I am looking for an affordable 3wt in at least 8 1/2' for bream fishing my pond but I have yet to find one. While I don't forsee ever giving up my spinning rods I do have the flyrod bug.

The backing is really just taking up space on the reel. The idea is that the fly line will have a lot less memory when wrapped around a larger diameter. If you wind line directly around the arbor it will not fill the spool up. The other benefit is insurance if you get into a very large fish that could take the entire fly line. This can be the case when fishing steelhead or saltwater species. I hope that helps. Tight Lines, Tim Landwehr

I'm wondering what each weight represents. for example, a number 5 rod. how big of a fish can that handle in pounds? same with the line -how much weight can it hold before breaking?
@Dorsetlaner
@Dorsetlaner 6 жыл бұрын
heidbrain hi there , the acctually fly line is practically indestructible it's the leader that is break able and the leaders can range from 2 pound to 80 pound depending on what you fish for I fish with a 5 waight rod and 6 waight line and I have caught 10 pound European bass (sea bass) on it no problem , just a good fight , and that's mostly it aswell , most rods will handle most fish however it just depends on how easy you want it to be .

Hello, Im a beginner to fly fishing, whats the reason for the backing on the reel I thought all you need is the fly line and the leader line? Thanks
@narucraze
@narucraze 7 жыл бұрын
Fly line is slick and will slip on the arbor. Backing is to prevent the line from slipping and to give you extra line in case a very large fish, (relatively speaking), takes all 80 or so yards of your fly line.
