Setting Up The Longer Ray5 Rotary Roller

i struggled with the issues of settings but i have managed to figure it out. im using lightburn 1.6 just for reference. in rotary set up: choose roller enable rotary mirror output to rotary ( you could mirror the image as you go but this saves the potential mistake later on not doing so) on y axis: set mm per rotation to 56.52mm set roller diameter to 18mm you dont have to input object diameter, only needed for chuck rotary. physically measure and make sure your image will fit within the surface space provided. tried settings following the video and had the issue of stretching. using the above settings fixed that for me. hopefully a help for someone else searching endlessly.

Would be great if Longer gave instructions with products and let you know about having to raise unit for roller, if there was no youtube like this one would be lost and it would be 100% trial and error

you need to play with steps per mm to fix the stretching issue

Get a note pad, l burn lots of different woods, if l have scrap l run it and gind best settings and jot it down so no guessing when l put that wood on table

Is it possible to use bigger workpieces with circumference 10" or more?

I was following the steps very carefully and I still was not successful my machine doesn’t work. The laser when rehoming it hits the frame also the rotary keeps rolling a few times

Interesting.. Have you tried setting home over top of the roller?

Does it make a difference whether you're on the chuck or roller? Cause looking at your screen, your Chuck is checked off. As the chuck to, is there an issue? Or does it matter?

@@silverstarr354 YEA, what he said. I was waiting for your brain to get smart and check the "ROLLER" box in the rotary setup screen.... I don't know what each type rotary selection is/does, but, they-Lightburn provided the option and LB should/does know what they are doing...
