This video was very helpful. I could have really used it the other day when I had to figure it out on the spot for a gig but had no idea. The S16 manual really sux. This video was very very clear. Thanks again.

Hi - I'm wondering how to do something similar, but with SD-8's on A & B (A = left house & B = right house) where A has a couple Aux Outs and left house speaker and B has a couple aux outs & right house speaker. I've figured out the AES50-A & B inputs but for the life of me can't figure out how to tell these boxes I want aux's and house on the same bank of 8 outputs.

If the 4 way crossover is used at FOH. How do you send 8 Channel outputs to the stage ?
@petergallant61089 жыл бұрын
Question: at 2:43 in the video you switch to routing the outputs of the 2 S16's. When routing "Out 9-16" under the 2nd column "AES50 A 9-16", I noticed that the "A" at the top of the column next to AES50 changes to "B". I followed your instructions on my X32 Compact - did it 6-7 times actually - and the "B" never appears. It remains "A". However, the outputs, as assigned, still see to work OK. Thoughts? Any idea what I may be doing wrong? Is this, perhaps, a firmware issue? Thanks for any help you can provide. Peter

Does this work with Two dl16's for the m32?

Hello guys in new to the forum and seeking some help I’ll tell you my set up first. Currently have an x32 in a booth running an analog snake to the stage with 8 inputs coming off the snake also have 12 mic inputs plugged directly in the board the we have two active speakers, two passive subs, and two passive wedge monitors all running through the snake, Along with 4 p16’s ran thru ultanet. So what I'm looking to do is replace the analog snake with an s16 but still want my x32 to have channels 1-8 coming from booth 9-16 from stage and 17-20 coming from booth plus I want to route speakers subs and monitor to digital snake. So my question is how to hook up the s16 correctly. My set up I left it on default mode but was concerned about the xlr outputs because before we just used ¼ outputs do I have to reassign this on the x32? Should I not be running the default on the s16 should it be the next option? Using outputs 9-16 since I was told 15-16 are the defaults for your main? Also is there a way to single out the subs instead of being daisy chained?

Hey! thanks for the video! REally helps a lot, though i have one quick question. You mentioned the "Main Outs" are on 7-8, and 15-16 ? I got a little confused. These two s16, are closer to the amps, than the x32, so from which output would i export the main audio ? S16(a) Channels 7-8 ? Or S16(b) 15-16 ?

4 years ago but I think he said 7-8 on the s16B.

Can you do anything with the 32 inputs on the back of the X32 after setting this up, or are they basically unusable at this point?
@emilianomorado4074 жыл бұрын
You can still use them. You just have to assign the input channel to a fader in the routing section of the individual channel

Hello, I'm using 2 s16's with my x32 compact. I see signal on every input but can't get any output from the stage boxes. I followed it step by step but still nothing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Oh, I've also updated the firmware to make sure everything is up to date. Thanks again.

How about output 17-32 local routing to bus?
@BigHeartedMan653 жыл бұрын
I have watched 100 videos now on how to hook up a single S16 to a X32 . I have the input part down . I go yo The router page and pick AES60 , 1-8 , The go to AES50 9 - 16 .. That I have . Now what I don't have is HOW do I get the Outputs on the S16 to end up as 1-6 be the Monitor outs for 6 Mixes and then have 7 and 8 end up as my Left and Right ? Now on the back of the X32 by default AUX 1-8 are the monitor sends Then 9 - 13 are more AUXs out , BUT AUX 15 and 16 are by default your House Left and Right . SO HOW do I get 7/8 on the S16 to be 15/16 ? I have a spare S32 and hooked it up to the X32 and it worked great . But the Church I am doing this all for (FREE) Does not have the money to buy the S32 and have to stay with the S16 for now . There has to be a way to route 15/16 to 7/8 of the S16 ... Remember they only have ONE S16 ... WHY the person who sold them the board did that I will never understand . HELP PLEASE ..You can e-mail me @ ctm4metoo@aol.com

Oh nevermind, i understood the 2nd time. By default the main outs are on 15-16 = which is equivalent to outputs 7-8 on the s16. now, my question is Which s16 ? a or b ? (As of now, it should be output 7-8, on the 2nd s16, right ?

HI! can i hook up two (2) sd8 to a x32? tanks
@thebassist1225 жыл бұрын
David Almeida yes.... same principle. I do it all the time. However, I used AES A and B connections to achieve this. Just be careful. When you go out of a port B on the X32 you must then go into port A onto the SD8. That’s only if if you want to use AES B as well as A. Otherwise follow the video exactly
@SupremeLeads11 ай бұрын
May be a silly question but is this also achievable connecting an S16 and SD8? Thanks in advance.
@sweetwater11 ай бұрын
Hello, Mike! Not silly at all! Yes, you can connect an SD8 along with an S16 to an X32. Thanks for the interest! Spunde, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1732, Spunde@Sweetwater.com

Please note that one should use shielded cat5 cable!

Hans, for both connections?
@mashzmash4 жыл бұрын
Not just shielded Cat5 (STP) but also with etherCON connectors bonded to the shield. Chassis grounds MUST be connected on both ends of the AES50 connection or you risk permanently blowing out your port!

mashzmash that is not entirely the case to be true. If the connectors itself are shielded, you’re good to go

This is NOT ethernet. Stop misinforming people. Last days i heard "did you set up IP adresses on S16's properly?".Cmon. Ethernrt and aes50 share the same physical layer and nothing else.
