Setting valve lash on a predator max performance 224/212 non hemi

I just picked up a CT200U-EX to fix and flip and I cant get it to pop over. So you just confirmed for me that the valve lash isn't set right. Now to go to the garage and see if i can set it and get it to start!

Hey man hope you see this . I have a predator 224 installed it how it came was running rich so i tried adjusting it and while adjusting it the bike turned off and i get kick back when i try to start it . I got spark and fuel . Do you think that having it run rich and vibrating so much could have thrown my valve lash off

If it's a new engine I would just take it back and get another one. The 224 comes with other jets google your elevation and install the recommended jet. The kick back could be lash. Your book will tell you what the factory recommends that you set it at but I always set mine to .003.

I have. Stock 224 cc just bigger carburetor no govern and is this is the 003 size 0.08mm size I should be using for the valves right or does it show anywhere in the engine what it recommends

If you have the book still it will tell you what they recommend to set the lash to. I personally would set both to .003 of an inch.
