Setup of the MV8500 for Bleeding Brakes

The second time I used this tool the small part that goes through the top of the pump rod & secures the handle broke in the middle of the job!

You're lucky! Mine fell apart the first time I used it - lasted all of 2 bleed nipples whilst bleeding my truck before it fell apart. Same issue that you had - Mityvac couldn't have been less interested. Avoid.

Just got this kit, while pumping the pin on the handle fell out.

I'm sorry to hear that, the pin can be reinserted into the pinhole on the plunger shaft, and the handle reattached. Add a drop or two of thin air tool oil down the nozzle and cycle a few times slowly. This should prevent the issue from occurring again. ~ John

what’s the difference with the Elite model?

The Elite model hand pump model MV8510 which is used in the MV8500 kit has the ability to create vacuum and generate pressure. Compare that to our MV8000 kit with only creates a vacuum. More capabilities with the MV85000 Kit and the MV8510 hand pump. ~John

Although the PLAYLIST title of this video is labeled "Setup of the MV8500 for Bleeding Brakes", the presenter states he is using: @ 0:12 "the MV 8510 IS THE VACUUM PRESSURE GUN 0:16 INCLUDED IN THE KIT you notice we have 0:18 setting for pressure setting for vacuum 0:21 we'll make sure that our selector knob 0:23 is set for vacuum" -- My MV8500 kit DOES NOT contain the "MV 8510 is the vacuum pressure gun" ... Just sayin' ... Maybe the PLAYLIST title of this video needs to be changed, as well as the MITYVAC logo image presented @ 0:00 - 0:02.

The MV8500 Silverline Elite kit includes the MV8510 Silverline Elite Hand pump. ~John
