I didn’t expect the entire process to cost 9,600- especially being on the island, it isn’t bad. Another KZbinr, Sola Fagbemi, made a video visiting this salon to take out her braids (if. Which I deeply appreciate, like Zainab said, I don’t want to spend my entire day at the salon.

You may look at $20 dollars as cheap but to be truthful that price will actually be seen as too high by indigenes, like that's a whole N9600 for just a wash and go with twist. I do have to admit that the stylist did a great but by Nigerian standard that wash and go with twist should only cost about like $14 if not less, and that $20 is full cost for a box braid or some other protective weaving if I'm to be honest with you

I'm so happy you made this video and the culture towards natural hair is changing in Nigeria. It would have saved me lots of stress years ago. I want to add for all the people saying that it's cheap because she gave the equivalent to $20. It's really not cheap for Nigérians. N9,600 is a lot of money and most can't probably afford to pay that for their hair. The value of the Naira has dropped so much and everything is super expensive for Nigerians but it appears cheap to others living abroad. For context, when i lived in Nigeria up to 2014, getting your hair washed & dried was like 1000 to 2000 Naira and braiding with box braids was about N5000 depending on the length, size, etc. So N9600 for washing and go is pretty expensive. I haven't been to a salon here in Canada because it's expensive to go in Canadian dollar and it probably the same in the US but also i don't feel that comfortable at salons. So if you find a salon that takes care of your hair well and you can afford it, support them ✌🏾

Hi Seun. Welcome to Nigeria. I'm Nigerian as well, moved back from the UK after study last year. That salon did a good job, from my perspective I will give them a 10/10. I'm more willing to let a salon style my natural hair now, I usually go into any salon washed and leave-in conditioned. Will you please do a make up tutorial if you can? Cheers!
@AdirondackRuby3 жыл бұрын
Such a simple, yet genius concept. Sometimes we think of salons as these grand, fancy, expensive places that you only go to ahead of special occasions. But sometimes it's nice to just take a break, let someone else detangle or shampoo your hair. It doesn't have to be about hair dye & hair cuts & fancy updos and all the other things that some places offer. It can be simple, straightforward. Better to do a few things WELL than to be mediocre at a hundred things, ya know? This reminds me of salons and barbers from my childhood.
@ForeverEclectic3 жыл бұрын
The way she detangled your hair, is how I detangle the night before I wash my hair. This salon did an excellent job. I have been natural for over 13 years, and have never visited a natural salon. I need you to go to every hair salon in Nigeria or at least in Lagos. I am living vicariously through you until I can go to Nigeria again. I can't wait to have my first hair salon visit too and now it has to be in Nigeria. The way she handled your hair is like nothing I've ever seen before. I need this ASAP.

I love hair that the stylist was very patient with your hair! It takes a lot of tlc to be able to manage tighter course natural hair. The style turned out beautiful!

Yay! It turned out great! I was there with you and it seemed like an excellent experience. Such a blessing that black women from the US, Canada, Africa and the West Indies have been reunited to share, learn and advance our hair care. I really believe that our reunification will be the greatest thing for our people.

Your hair is so beautiful 😍 and oh Zainab's wash and go is an inspiration, I own a natural hair salon in Abuja and I've been following Zainab's work back to back they're detailed I've had to learn quite a few, I must say women really love it when you can style their hair beautifully especially natural hair. Your review was amazing too!
