@@derteufel2252 think you need to get a handle on time scales. The sun will indeed scorch the earth to naught, on the timescale of tens of billions of years. Global warming could reduce the planet's diversity to a shell of itself and lead to human suffering on a level not seen since the world wars, on the time scale of maybe 100 years. Using the inevitable death of the host star as an excuse for apathy is sort of like saying "we all die eventually, so I guess I won't put in the effort to step out of the way of this car." Nobody thinks like that and no one should. Global warming *is* fixable and we *all* should care.
@derteufel22525 жыл бұрын
Chris Dock, no.. I don’t think Global warming is preventable. Do I think it was going to happen regardless? Yes. Do I believe humans speed up the process? Yes. Will animal species be affected? Yes. I mean seriously, our planet is diverse. Remember the time it rained for around 2 million years? Yeah, we didn’t cause that. Remember when oxygen levels were around 33% Yeah, we didn’t cause that. I do like our planet and it’s diversity, and it is my home. Just let the earth do its thing, okay? Sure, we humans are greedy, and we affect the ecosystem negatively. Though we ARE the dominant species. The animals will go extinct regardless. And some of the actions humanity causes are acts of selfishness and greed. Just live your life to its fullest. This won’t affect our children or our grandchildren. You’ve fallen into this scare tactic. The only thing I worry about is getting past today and through tomorrow, so on and so forth. This global warming propaganda won’t put our lives in jeopardy.

David Attenborough's voice has become the symbolic line of mankind's relationship with nature. Very few people achieve such a spot in our global conscious and fewer sustain that reputation with as much persistence as he has over the decades. Oh how great and fulfilling it would be to be part of David Attenborough's team. I mean it's awesome to witness these productions as a mere audience member, but I long to be one among the team who scouts the world with a narrative, collecting fascinating footage for the rest of the world to awe at.

Life on Earth, Living Planet, Trials of Life, Life of Birds, Life of mammals, First Life, Blue Planet, Planet Earth, State of the Planet; all were more astonishing and beautiful than the previous! And now this! I doubt there would be as many great nature-series if Sir David Attenborough had not started this game, and neither would they have had such high recognition and authority around the world without his engaging and expert presentation. it is going to be very difficult to make any nature series without him, or have as many people watching it! But luckily it looks like he has found the fountain of youth on one of his many travels!

Ironically, at the moment when we are losing most of of the species due to our actions....we are getting some of most beautiful documentaries about that very world we are destroying...

@@ashlyr4385 But they dont...just like at Glastonbury festival ..David came out and talked or a few minutes to the younger generation who seemed to dig it, yet when Glastonbury was finished the mess that was left was just shocking.
