I saw a barista doing almost the same thing(forgot his name) the different was he put coffee powder on the cup(no liquid just powder) in the first try so it wont discoloured the milk so much so you can try and try again using the same milk to practice. That is actually a very good tip indeed. Love it.

Really nicely presented video! I would have loved to hear a little bit more about step 2 really - how you start pushing that art on the surface, my milk quite often sinks or doesn't form a discernible shape even when i pour from a low height. Also if anyone else is reading this and don't always have chocolate - cinnamon powder makes for a good handy substitute to practice.

Great tips, thanks for the video. I have also heard that a way to practice is to use water with one drop of washing up liquid. It steams up a bit like milk and you can practice over and over. I've tried it myself and it's not a bad way to practice if it's the art and not the frothing that you need work on.

Great video! I either get milk that just sinks below or a thick blob that doesn’t flow backwards at all - just sits there. So I’m thinking after watching this that I’m struggling with consistent texture and also maybe speed. Trying to change multiple variables at once is hard though to figure out which one is the main problem.

Yup. Did all those mistakes. My milk jug almost touches the rim of the latte cup when I start the latte art. Sometimes it does. I also find that if your milk is too thick you can minimize the foam by pouring higher than normal and do a simple heart. Forget about the ferns with thick milk.

I've seen many Latte Art tips on youtube. Many of them look good, but nonsense. Yours look messy, but pure useful. Thanks for the good tips!
