My toxic trait is finding this video, with no sewing experience, and thinking I can do this because you made it look so easy lol. It’s beautiful!!

Your corset is absolutely adorable. I love the strawberry and floral print fabric that you used. I would definitely use the sage green ribbon for the lacing on the floral side. It might also work for the strawberry side.

Thank you! I definitely think I’m going to get some sage ribbon for the next time I wear it

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I just bought this pattern and some beautiful woodsy tapestry fabric, and wasn't entirely certain how to go about adding the boning. I've made ren faire garments before, but nothing yet that included boning, so this helps me immensely! ♥ Yours came out so beautiful!

Making it reversible is such a great idea and it turned out lovely! I'm trying this pattern currently, reversible with boning, but I ran into a bit of an issue when adding the boning channels. Although I had basted my lining and outer together pretty evenly, the lining fabric ended up bunching as I sewed the boning channels. I used iron-on interfacing applied to the outer fabric, so maybe that was part of the issue.

I tried to do this your way and ran into problems with the seam allowance written on the pattern vs what the pieces actually looked like they were drafted for. Could you please tell me what seam allowance you used, and how many bones you did/where in more detail? Your version of this is exactly what I wanna make but I keep banging my head against the wall to get it right!
@kikizalewski2 жыл бұрын
Hi! So I believe I did sew this at 5/8th an inch seam allowance, if I remember correctly the tricky thing with this patter is that the neck, hem and armhole are also all drafted for 5/8th which makes things a bit weird when It comes to finishing the edges. I think I trimmed those down to 1/4 when it came time to binding. Bones I did one on each side of the grommets at the front, one over the princess seam for the bust, one at the side under the arm, one where the back and side seam together, and one at the center back.

this is just adorable....I just got this pattern, myself. Looks like you didn't use interfacing between the layers? I am finding the actual pattern instructions regarding the interfacing to be a little complicated.

I also worried about my cat doing something to the pattern as i was cutting it (also using the C pattern) I want to make mine reversable, so landed on your video! Thanks for reminding me i need Bias tape!! LOL i'll get that today before i start! Thanks for the video - very helpful! Oh and you're adorable but Stella....she's way too cute!!

I have orderd this pattern yesterday. I wonder what size you cut out of the pattern? I am a Europian size 42/44. You size looks a bit a size I would wear. Thank you for this video.😊❤
@reynakajino2952 Жыл бұрын
what kind of fabric did you use? was it just cotton? I'm wondering because other corset tutorials tell me to put coutil underneath to give it a little more strength but coutil is very expensive and I'd rather keep things simpler.
