I’m just in the process of making this (love yours bye the way) and I also had a problem with the back and front business re the placket and I think it’s because they use the shaded diagram to show the wrong side but we are used to that being the right side. Very confusing! Thanks for the burrito method for the yoke as I’m just about to start that!

I really like the top you have on and the fabric is so pretty. That's what gets me with shirts with buttons, which way to lay the pattern piece - lol. Great review.

It looks lovely. I am enjoying seeing all these shirts appearing on my feed for the challenge - it’s actually a style that really appeals to me but I’d never considered trying the pattern before! Maybe I will have a go in the future. I’ve got the Carolyn pjs pattern and it’s one of my make nine fit the year so try that first ♥️

Hi Rachel, I have been sewing for many years now and have sewn many a collar. The instruction for sewing a collar changed a while back. Previously the shorter side of the collar was put to the body of the shirt. It is now the longer edge of the collar that goes to the body of the shirt.. Maybe look at that as an idea to try. I love both your shirts and didn't notice the band being reversed Mary

I really like both of your versions! I have the pattern too....and I’d like to give it a try. I’d like more of a elbow length sleeve...do you think that would be a easy enough hack?

I think you would possibly have to find a sleeve you like and reshape the sleeve head for it to fit as it's just a band on the pattern

You sure can't tell there are mistakes from the picture. Both look good on you but I love the one you are wearing. Such a great fabric for it.

Hi Rachel, I love both Kalle shirts that you have made and the fabrics are great. I'm due to make it myself but I'm trying to get through a Betty dress from Sew Over It at the moment as it's for my niece's Birthday on the 7th of April. I can't wait to have a go and your advice is invaluable to me so thanks so much for your feedback 👍. I have the pattern luckily, rather than the PDF, as I thought I would treat myself to that one. I'm planning to do the cropped version with a little bit of added length as I'm only five three and always feel that longer ones swamp me a bit. The longer version looks amazing on you and I believe that you are quite tall so that's probably why it looks so good. I will definitely look at grainlines burrito method as that's something I was a bit concerned about so thanks for that tip👍. I have made the Ebony t-shirt pattern by Closet Case and that came out very well I thought. Their patterns are made of thicker white tissue as well, which I prefer to the thinner brown tissue versions. I think I'm going to love this shirt though and can't wait to try it as I have loved Ruthie's versions as well as yours now so I'm quite excited about it😁. I'm with you about needing some warmer weather.....we have snow here too and it's so unusual for this time of year and for Cornwall. thank you Sally, yes I think I added a couple of inches to each pattern and I could probably get away with a bit more on the cropped version. I like the Ebony but don't think it would suit me with it being more of a trapeze shape as it would hide my waist which is my smallest part, yes have a look at the grainline tutorial as it's really good and easy to understand x
