Nice, I had just seen a recent video yesterday from FQS with Joanna Figuero featuring a trunk show along with her new book. One of two favorite quilts was a bow tie quilt with just a green and a soft white. Not fancy but wonderful impact. Love serendipitous occurrences. Guess I’ll get hustling as I have just the perfect solid green yardage. I had bought it on vacation with hubby 3 years ago because I loved the soft vintage color and been waiting for the perfect quilt idea for my fabric. I have it in a basket on my hutch in my sewing room so it will always be quietly waiting for Just the Perfect quilt. Thanks Sherri and love your videos.

Such a cute idea, don’t think I’ve ever made use of the bow tie block. I have the Brackman encyclopedia and have referred to it a lot for the age/first publication of blocks. We quilters have a lengthy heritage 😊.

Yes! Elmer’s glue is great on fabric. I found that the stick version pulled a bit too much for me. Maybe I have too heavy of a hand with it.

Absolutely love this idea for a scrap quilt!! I think I’m going to do it! I have a lot of Cozy Up fabric from Corey Yoder and it’s one of my favorite lines. Would be perfect for a quilt for myself!!

I just finished repairing a 100 year old bow tie quilt that had to be done completely by hand sewing...each block was 6" and it was the old fashion style. In tried to make the squares the way you are doing them but every block was a different size. I cut the fabric and folded under the seam allowance and pinned them over the damaged square and handstitched.
