Great tutorial and I definitely going to try out this pattern. But I have a TIP to share : If you want your item to be waterproof, do NOT put Pins through PUL fabric because every pin creates a little hole. I would suggest using clips, like wonder clips or, any clip that does not create a hole in your fabric.

This is true. Just about everyone will recommend wonder clips vs pins.

I just ran across your video. Immediately got the pattern and made a bib. It worked great - especially with a lot of the scrap fabric I have from making masks few years ago. I think I can even make some 'fussy' pieces work. The neck in your pattern is actually large enough for my 5 mo old grandchild. Thank you!

Instead of using 2 pencils, for my tracing pencil( the inner one ) I use a pen with a cap on it then the pencil on the outer. It keeps my original neat for use another time. Thanks for a great tutorial.

Love the 2 pencil trick. Never thought of that. These bibs are super cute and I love that they're waterproof. Thanks for sharing this.
Great tutorial. Great tip using the 2 pencils. I these baby bibs. Thank you for sharing.

I would clip (and maybe trim) the curved seams before turning right side out. That will help shape the bib. Nice video. I did not know PUL existed. I learn something every day, and today you are my teacher. Thanks so much!!! 🙂 BTW, I love working with Clover Thick Water Erasable Markers. They are Blue and have been lasting me a very long time.

Thanks for watching! And I will have to give those erasable markers a try. I have struggled to find a marker I really like. Thank you!

@@findmecrafting When I printed the pattern at 100% it resulted in a very small bib. What are the overall dimensions of the bib you made in this video? The finished bib I made ended up measuring 6-7/8" at the widest point and 9" long; and the neck opening is really small, around 2-1/4". I will try again to print the pattern and enlarge it.

So you have the PUL fabric on the outside? Could you place it in between so the bib could be reversible?
@findmecrafting7 ай бұрын
I did put it on the outside, but you could definitely try sandwiching the PUL. The only trouble I think you'd have is that the snap would be facing a bit strangely when you reversed it.

I absolutely love the fabric that you picked !!!! Are these washable? I want to make a few of them for my friend's newborn baby .

Definitely washable! They wash really well and hold up for a long time.

The pattern itself isn't mine but I think you could print it out and draw on any modifications yourself like make the neck hole larger. Or, you could print it larger (for example print the whole pattern at 120% from your printer.) Hope this helps!
@normacooper6377 Жыл бұрын
Use a jar lid or other round object to increase the neck opening area on the pattern, plus seam allowance. Clip the fabrics (not the stitches) in the seam allowances in these circular areas so it allows the fabrics to flex.

You can also use a piece of ribbon to make an extender and put a snap on each end.
