Sew Your Stash Series - Episode #36 - Patchwork Stars in 6 Sizes!!

Welcome to my channel...thank you for joining me for what is happening in my sewing room today...it's another scrappy sewing session:)
Today's tutorial is more about using your leftover scrappy squares!!!
I'm doing my Patchwork Star Block tutorial from my
Scrappiness is Happiness Book and it's also our Week Twenty Four in the
Scrappiness is Happiness Book Quilt Along.
The Patchwork Star Block pattern is on page 162 in the book.
It's part of the Patchwork Flag Quilt pattern that is on page 164.
The block in the book finishes at 16"....
But in this video I show you FIVE more blocks using different sized squares from your scrappy stash:)
Afterwards I'll show and tell about another fun project for using up leftover squares...so stay tuned!!.

I have been quilting for many years, but it's never really been my passion. I always got it done, but never enjoyed the process and just couldn't wait until it was done. Since I started watching your channel, I realized what was wrong. I really enjoy watching your processes. You are organized, things are clear and easy to understand. You do the same methods for all the different things you sew and its really motivating for me to watch you take your time, follow your procedure and just enjoy it. Today, I created one of your blocks following your methods and taking my time, and I really had a good time. I got one block done but it's not a race and if I want to enjoy it, it can't be with me. I bought your pattern book and I'm so happy that i did! I make and donate a quilt to our local American Legion for them to raffle off to make money for the veterans in our area. I love this flag quilt! However, I wanted to ask how I could make it a little longer, hopefully without adding adding a border on the top and bottom. Any suggestions? I'm a fairly new quilter. I've only been quilting for about 5 years and I'm self taught and still trying to figure out how to change things up. Thank you for all your wonderful videos and the time you put into making them. One night when sewing your blocks I couldn’t stop and sewed them all I’m putting the dashing together which scares me so much and borders scare me too. But everything except the mistakes I made is so cute. The directions in your book make it easier. Thank you for all you do. Your fabrics are all so beautiful and you show us how to put them to use.
