Sewing a 1940s Dress! (vintage pattern, lots of gingham!)

I love vintage reproduction dresses, but they can be pricey! It's also VERY hard to find one that fits both my body and my picky-vintage-dream-dress ideals! (lol!) Instead, I try to sew my own, and often learn a LOT in the process! ;) Today's project uses one of my favorite vintage patterns AND one of my favorite fabric prints! :) This shirt dress style from the 1940s is the perfect mix of cute and capable. It's unique but also super wearable for both a retro or a modern look. And let's not get me started on how much I love that red gingham, bc we would be here for a while! lol! Why not gather a lil' gingham yourself and join me for the sewing adventure? :)

Oh perfect timing, I'm just about to sew myself a gingham dress for hot weather (plenty more it yet in Texas this year). I love shirt dresses because they're so easy to wear casually or to dress up with accessories.
