This is absolutely gorgeous! If you don't mind slight feedback, I'd love it if you gave us more time at the end of you modeling the clothes you make. I really love seeing the payoff, and getting to see how it looks on you and the final outcome is really the most satisfying part.

My mother had something similar in the early/mid 60s. It likely came from JC Penney as she worked there for years. The outfit was a dark brown color which suited my mother well. She would liven it up with a bright scarf. She also was a fan of pretty shoes.

My grandmother was born in 1909 when she was sewing she would use old shirts and for interfacing on her cottons and sometimes she would use old sheets two-line skirts dresses &jackets. Being a mother of 3 girls during the depression she couldn't waste a thing. Any scrap she had left went into quilts.

Your videos are edited- and executed- just as COOL and manicured as your finished clothing creations . I love this era in women’s fashion partly being because of the “body” type and look the measurements geer towards - lol if that makes sense 🤣 but also the choices in texture, pattern, buttons etc- it’s all so beautiful and stylish . thank you for all your hard work in presenting your process and progress within your project demo vids - HUGELY entertaining and informative- Adam

@saiitome Жыл бұрын
Oh wow that looks so stunning on you! Perfect choice of fabric, colour and pattern for you ❤. Now, I am a tailor and I appreciate the work you put into your projects. If I may, I would like to suggest you look into "turn of cloth" before starting your precious wool projects. It's a technique that makes all the difference in how finished garments look. You use it in all materials from quilting cotton to really heavy wool, but it makes a huge difference in all thicker materials, like coat fabric. It's difficult to explain and it takes quite a lot of practice but in short it's making sure the outer material of let's say a collar is bigger than the inner side. The ditch of the seam should lie invisible on the underside of the collar or lapel when you wear the coat/jacket. Some patterns have two separate pieces for inner and outer collar, if not you have to make accommodations yourself. The thing to keep in mind is that the outer fabric "travels longer" on its journey around the body, or a fold. Good luck with future projects and thanks for this very pretty and inspiring channel 😀

Love the suit. You did a beautiful job and I’m glad you decided to dive in and get it made. The only thing I struggle with is the white hose. They look too much like nurses white stockings and it’s where my eye automatically goes to when you are modeling your phenomenal outfit. No slam against nurses. Been one since 1983. I came up in the era of nurses cap, school pin, white uniform, white pantyhose and white nursing shoes. Trying to keep all that white sparkling clean and “white” was a challenge.
