I've seen on some patterns (that require gathering a tier that is long like that) that instruct the sewer to break up the gathering stitch into like 4 bits with the thread tails coming off each end. It makes it so that there is less to gather with each seam so it is less likely to break on you. I tried it and I loved it. So I stead of one long gathering seam line do like 4.

Alexandra, you should put a cloth or an old T-shirt or something over your head when you put clothes on / take them off, so you don't get make-up on! It works great :) Also I love your channel!

Love your dress. I use a lint roller ( sticky roller used to take fluff off clothes) to pick up tread from the floor

To clean threads up use a sticky lintel roller or tape if it won't vacuum up well..I'll share what I've learned over the years.

Gather on a serger or use a gathering foot! Yup yup yup I've broken many while gathering that's why I Always make at least rows sometimes 3. For piece that long foreshore 3. Sorry that is frustrating.

When u cut the sleeve part of the pattern, cut it one size down. If u r a size 8, cut the size 6 line, for eg.

Hi, I buy my tracing paper for an art supplier, defo recommend an art shop/art supplier as it’s typically cheaper. I use a Canon G7X to film, and I use Final Cut (Adobe) to edit my videos in. Thank you for your lovely words! God bless you too!

Have you tried the gathering technique using yarn/string and a zig zag stitch? I found it on Sewing Therapy’s channel (the M7969 pattern tutorial). It saved my life from broken gathering stitches!

I have just set in a sleeve and have the same trouble it’s off the shoulder , how do you reduce it to make it sit higher? I am a beginner and this is my first dress

Ah so I just went and sewed a bigger seam allowance. Alternatively you can remove the sleeve and cut the shoulder part of the sleeve. Maybe remover an inch or so. Sorry for the late reply and hope this works!!!

Hi Celine! Thank you so much! Hmmm, it depends on how much leg you want to show ;) I reckon you can get away with 2 m if you are really careful and if you cut the sleeves short from the start, (I only did that at the end). The other option is that you don't add sleeves! :) Hope this helps!

Hi lovely, so glad you’re here, and you found my channel! I used wide tracing paper (150 cm wide). I normally buy it from an arts shop because it tend to be cheaper than from a sewing shop! Hope this helps!

Yeah the shoulder thing was so frustrating. I made another one this summer and went for the longer style and it’s nice, but learnt my lessons and changed that shoulder! Sorry to hear yours didn’t work out, it’s frustrating when that happens! 🌼🌼🌼
