Hi Amelia, Seems like skirts are in at the moment. I liked your skirt with the fitted basque waist and the panelled skirt you are going to making up in the black. Janelle from Rosary made a very nice skirt last week also. Your daughter’s dress with the birds is adorable. Happy sewing 🦘🇦🇺

Thank you so much Kaye. I saw Janelle's new pattern - it looks so lovely! I am looking forward to making the Sylvie skirt this week - just in time for the warmer weather too!

I bought the mini makes book too. I love using a pin tuck foot. It is so very easy and looks great. I bought the Tilly book primarily for the Sonny and Indigo.

I love the Sonny and the Indigo - I can't wait to try all the patterns actually - they look so practical for little ones! I really loved using the pin tuck foot and want to use it on loads of patterns now!

I am very keen to visit Shaukat Fabrics, as I love Liberty tana lawns. My husband has agreed that, assuming we're not away on my birthday, we'll make a little pilgrimage to South Kensington so I can experience it first hand 🤩 That's love... 😉 Your floral skirt is gorgeous, and the black one will doubtless get a lot of wear.

I hope you get to visit - it was such a lovely shop for a good browse. I will definitely be going back for some winter liberty corduroy I think. ❤️

The birds dress turned out beautifully, and I'm sure the mini Indigo will, too. Pintucks are such a good idea on children's clothes, what with the way they insist upon getting taller constantly. I've had a pintuck foot for my machine for a couple of years now, and I still haven't cracked it out of its packaging. I look forward to playing with it one day 😅 When I saw the panelled skirt pattern, I thought, 'definitely one for a solid!' That skirt in black should be so useful. I hope the fabric isn't as tricky to work with as you fear it might be.🤞

Thank you Chloe! I really adore the way the bird dress turned out - I really want to make another one of the same pattern now! The pintuck foot was so much fun to play with and really straightforward too - I want to put pintucks on everything now.

How do you attach the back bodice to the skirt. Do you just gathers and pin the middle and side seam and sew Or Do you pull the elastic part of the bodice to stretch it to the skirt
