I was a little concerned about so many pleats with corduroy. But you were right, they turned out really nice.

I really love the pants on you. I’d like them in lightweight stretch denim. I’ve become attached to stretch clothing. So comfy.

The wide leg pants turned out really nice and they look so cute on you. That fly and waistband was something else. 😳 I agree about that interfacing. I have the same interfacing and definitely does not seen like featherweight to me. I always read your comments.❤️🧵

I love it every time you say something doesn't make sense to you. Very shortly afterwards I nearly always learn something. I love comfy corduroy and remember the culottes from the 70s, they were comfy but I never saw them "cords". It works very well. Your rosy top looks lovely with it too and I instantly thought that another pair of these pants in the rosy fabric too would make a lovely Spring ensemble (Too many roses? Maybe for some but I'm one of those who just can't get enough florals - I have them in my carpet, wall paper, fireplace tiles, curtains... If I can find a way to cram another flower into my life I will and I just adore that floral fabric, especially on you!) :-)

Fun pants Marie! Surprised the corduroy worked so well, thought it would be too bulky.

I’ve been looking at that pants pattern! I wouldn’t have thought to use corduroy, thinking that would create too much bulk, but they look fantastic. That fly & facing was tricky, no wonder you needed to walk away for a minute 😄

Those “skirt” pants are so much cuter than I thought they would be from the pattern envelope. 😊 They look soft and comfortable. That color is lovely & the whole outfit looks great together. Thanks for sharing your work.

Thank Marie for another GREAT sewing video. Love the pants. Corduroy is my favorite fabric. Your horses are so pretty. And they just go in they stalls and they know where to go. Amazing. I loved your ending as you were modeling your pants and doing your ballet Point your little tiny doggie was jumping & wanted to play. So precious

One can never have too many 201`s lol. Here in western Oregon we saw Robins about a week or two ago, thought spring was coming but nope, actually had snow on the ground this morning and sleet just a bit ago.

They really are cute, Marie! The fabric is so beautiful too! 😍 You could maybe "scoop out" the crotch seam to give you a bit more space down there? 🤔 Might make them a tad more comfortable? I am now thinking through whether I can figure out how to incorporate that pleated detail into the front of another trouser pattern I am fond of, that doesn't have a fly front (I have a mummy tummy so I don't favour front openings) - wish me luck! Enjoy wearing your beautiful trousers 😊

Hi Marie, just letting you know I do read the descriptions you have written. Thank you. I actually read them to see if you included the link to the sewing machine channel you mentioned. I may have misunderstood, but I thought you mentioned having another channel. I'm going to look through your page to see if I can find it. I am always amazed at how you fix your sewing machines. I imagine you must have an engineering background. BTW, I love these Catherine Hepburn type of pants. So incouraged now to take a stab at making these. Zoraya Luna

I was very excited about this video because I got that pattern at the Joann sale a couple weeks ago. Yours look so nice I will have to make them. I am very tall and long waisted as well so it is good to know I will need to add my usual inch to the crotch rise. I would suggest a little scoop on yours and then serge to right on the seam to reduce all that bulk and I promise they will fit better. I so appreciate seeing all your mistakes so I will know what not to do.

First I love the fireside chat. You are renewing my appreciation for corduroy They seem feminine to me. Which is lovely I really like the waist less look. All that being said, I don't think the very pleated front with plain ish back would work for me

Is there a way to scoop out the rise after they are made just a little bit? I previously made a McCall’s pattern with large legs and it would be ever so much more comfortable with a little extra in the rise. I thought if I made it again I would just add a little before the waistband, but I’ve seen others scoop out a little at the back crotch.
@mybucoliclife

Yes! Actually I showed that on another pants video. Just turn one of the legs inside out and tuck it inside the other leg and it's very easy to do.

Ok, I gotta ask. When you punch your holes in the pattern paper and then mark your dots, I see how that works great for the upper fabric piece. But, how do you mark the lower piece of fabric when you’re cutting 2? I typically pin and mark where the pin comes through, but curious how your method works. Thanks.
@mybucoliclife
@mybucoliclife Жыл бұрын
I usually have to mark each side separately. Unless the fabric is really thin and the pen can bleed through 😊

Question about your iron... I make a lot of quilts & want to get back into garment sewing and I'm a REAL stream junkie... I love the stash you seem to get. I've looked at the Rowenta Pro Steam Station and the Laurastar irons, but they are both incredibly expensive... Thought I'd compare what you have(I'm sure it's not inexpensive), but want to compare. Did you have a name/model (link)? Thanks!

Hello! I love my iron, but it took a little while to get used to. Having the water tube connected, and the heavier weight of it took some getting used to. I got it from wawak.com it is called a rapid steam iron. I love having the gallon size water reservoir, so I never have to worry about it running out of steam. I am also a steam junkie 😅 it's actually a lot less expensive than some of the other iron's out there.
@JoannaShoemaker
@JoannaShoemaker Жыл бұрын
I was binge looking at the Wawak online catalog and thought I might have seen it. I agree, it is much less than the others. I just love the amount of steam you get, thanks!!! Thanks for all of your great videos... I've been binge watching them all.
