I cannot believe how you have done that so simple no marking or leaving 12” to lay up one side and laying the other on to and sewing at a 45. Where have you been lol. That’s so simple my gosh ! What?! I have quilted for YEARS and can’t even guess how many of these videos I have seen How can it be that those literally hundreds of quilters who show use how to do this the hard way never knew about this? This is beyond amazing! Thank you ever so much. Any chance you have a trick for the binding’s mitered corners? Like I mentioned, I have years of experience and can do usually two perfect corners. when you join a straight line, it creates more bulk with folded over as all the seam allowance is in same place. This is a very simple method

Is it necessary to cut off that much fabric.. the part that you overlayed the fabric on top?

Yes as you need to overlap the same measurement as the width of your binding to create a 45 degree join.

This method will work for any binding that you are piecing together. You just need to unfold first for quilt binding.
