I adored all the characters! They all are so real. My favorite scene is in a later episode where Otis dances with Eric at the dance. It’s so good to see a genuine male friendship between men that are comfortable enough with who they are not to care about everyone else. 🙌🏻

Fantastic review! Now I want to watch the series for the fifth time 😁 I am with you about the music in this series. It is so good and so perfectly placed. I can’t say enough about Gillian/Jean. Fabulous role for Gillian. I can’t get enough. I watched the series for Gillian. I stayed for all of the characters. What wonderful younger actors they are. Eric and Maeve are my favorite characters ( other than Jean of course). Thank you for your wonderful review!!!

I started the series due to Gillian but the series has such good writing and casting I was hooked since episode 1. There was drama but it was funny😁 And All characters were naturally as they would be in life - loved it. Edit: why are there no guys in Candice's reviews' comments'? lol

Isn't it so insightful how ep 1 mentioned an Oedipus complex (kid falling in love w parent- type figure) and Jean and Maeve are like the same person?!? Yeah Otis, you dog!

I only watched because of Gillian Anderson but really didn't like her character. Felt like she was trying really hard to be the cool mom and while expecting everybody else to respect boundaries, she herself is a nosy snoop and kind of overbearing at times. Didn't work for me. Loved Maeve though and Eric was a little ray of sunshine.

Interesting! I loved her character. But then again I have a weak spot for flawed and complicated women. I think that all of her intentions come from a place of love and her boundary issues come from a place of hurt and insecurity. I find her fascinating.
