I had a lesson for this on Vanderbilly, but since that is no more, I re-shot a newer version. Some things I've learned since I posted the original.

Quite a lot of "lessons" on KZbin aren't as in depth as yours buddy and for a beginner this is gold, Thanks

As a relative newbie, i find your tutorial very informative and interesting. Many thanks.

Nice video Richard. Your original magazine solo is correct. Check out the Live@Winterland 1978 video, clearly shows Steve playing it the way you thought. He's obviously adapted his style over the years as we all do.

Thanks for dong all the hard work. I've been trying to learn this using a tab book, but while much of it sounds right, there are bits I wasn't sure about. Also, I couldn't get the guitar solo sounding like it should using the tabs. Cheers!

Thank you. It's a super fun tune that was more complex than I thought.

Jones changed the way he played the solo quite a lot! One can never find the "definitive" tutorial. I guess most people want something that sounds like the solo from NMTB.

That bit at 10.10 was not unlike Johnny Thunders at the time, who liked chuck berry and Keith ect, the pistols came after the new york dolls and that bit sounds similar to a Johnny thunders bit in edit: pirate love from johnny thunders and the heart breakers

What pedals do you use for the tone??
@woodfireguitar3 жыл бұрын
The amp is a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe with a touch of dirt on the O/D channel, and then I added a Boss SD-1 in front of it.

You should show your right hand too. Good tutorial anyway.
@woodfireguitar3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking it out. I weighed the options of zoomed out to catch both hands, or close up on my fretting hand. I figured I'd be able to show more detail zoomed in and add the picking hand to show oddities on the fretting hand as they come. Without moving to a multi camera set up.

@@woodfireguitar learning this right now, thanks a lot... Did you also do a Driver 8 tutorial too? I remember the Vanderbelly site mentioned in that one
@Victormene3 жыл бұрын
@@woodfireguitar the reason I asked you to show your right hand is because I've seen some tuturials for this song where in the comments they criticize the way the teacher is strumming. They say downstrokes should be prominent.

@@woodfireguitar I'm having a hard time picking up what strings you strum in the solo.
