My husband and I are also in the process of purchasing a new car and I literally don’t even want to be in the room when they start discussing price. I’m uncomfortable in almost any checkout situation in general, unless I’m paying. Even if I’m with my mom and she’s buying groceries, I have the strong desire to get away during the checkout process. I saw the Willis family TV shows in the UK and then later the saddness of the children talking about the abuse they suffered at the hands of their now imprisoned father. I always wondered how they're doing and how their mother is. No potty talk please 🙈. Also, how I am is I like to keep things quiet, like being pregnant until at least 12 weeks into it, that's just me, less pressure.

Your husband reminds me of a younger version of my hubby (whos a GREAT man so its a compliment!) and you remind me of me, with the uncomfortable feelings in haggling/confrontation. Over the years, with lots of biblical counseling, Ive learned that im not in charge of anyone else's feelings.(Codependent No More by Melanie Beatty and Boundaries by Cloud and Townsend are two phenomenal books that go hand in hand) In the instance of a haggling situation, if each person feels that they are leaving something on the table once a number is agreed upon, then it's a fair deal. Ive also learned that Im always willing to walk away if someone doesn't meet what Ive deemed something worth and what Im willing to pay. You never know what God has in store for you and trusting that there's something better has been a big lesson in trust for me (repeatedly) Im definitely not perfect in high pressure situations but Im getting better with practice and you will too! 🙂
