Lets be honest...sex sells. And I'm not going to blame anyone else but my own black folks. We bump this music all the time and support these kind of artist, then get mad when they finally blow up and play some stuff that honestly isn't new. Lil Kim and Missy Elliot been making music like this. Maybe not as explicit, but it was there. It's always been there. I wouldn't blame artist for blowing up the same way I wouldn't blame guns for killing folks. It ain't them, its the people who put them in a position of power.

bro that's my issue with arguments like this shit mane, niggas make these arguments as if this shit ain't BEEN around and the our elders who were children at the time weren't listening to shit they weren't supposed to either. Like c'mon man, I hate when we make it seem like it's a brand new issue exclusive to this generation
@00pium_kingvampstan
@00pium_kingvampstan 6 ай бұрын
The only difference between the 2000s and now, is you didn’t have to be as extreme as you do now, which is why music is so explicit, bc if you aren’t at least somewhat true to your extremes, this gen will sniff you out and eat you alive.

In my opinion, its the adults fault and not sexy redd bc her music is mainly targeted at adults and parents and schools can advise what their kids listen to. Also sexy redd is talented bc she makes music that harkens back to the 2000s yet it doesnt sound dated, its fun, and she has solid beat selection.

The conspiracy theories were right (again) Every industry, including rap has slowly been becoming more ranchy and less filtered over time. Same thing with commercials slowly implementing more "almost" curse words and more sexual innuendos then early 2010s and before. Everywhere is losing their filter. Personally i dont care.

Not really. More raunchy no, less filtered not really. Their music has been censored on most radio platforms for most decades and sexually charged music has existed since before the 1930's. Listen to shave em dry by Lucille Bogan and she's talking about being able to make a dead man c** in the first 20 seconds of the song. And the whole kids thing is just anti lgbt rhetoric.

Like some people just don’t value lyrics there’s a time and place for everything. I love Earl sweatshirt because of his dense word play but sometimes I just wanna listen to something turnt. As a kid which is not long ago we had promiscuous songs and violence songs but specifically with sexual songs they were not this graphic and even as a jit bro songs that were basically p*rn script readings were creepy asl to be and still make me squirm because its like watching p*rn with a buddy, wtf are we doing watching p*rn together this shi weird. Violent songs are different tho but not. Then you have people like lets say cupcake. This music has a place for sure but imo its place is an adult meme. Imagine a rapper rapping about long d some shorty at length. Bro I am not rapping about my meat. Some other dude might like that but me hell nah. Yeah I think there should be a line tho. bring back the specifics of what is for kids and what is for adults. I really think it starts with social media. Too many adult things get into kid spaces. I remember if there was a half naked woman on the screen in a movie and my family would shield my eyes loool. And rightfully so.

I really don't think her music should be that popular and young people should definitely not be exposed to that ish, but I don't take her and her lyrics serious at all. She has a cover of Lil Bs like a martian titled TYBG or something... This made me come to the realization that she might just be trolling like Lil B often did with his intentionally shitty sounding tracks and questionable lyrics, and his really good songs sre mostly unknown. If you see her music as her having fun and as comedy it will somehow become not so bad, at least for me. And she is a funny person in interviews, so I really think she's doing it for her own amusement and not to be taken seriously as an artist at the moment. Maybe she just wants to attention to switch up her sound and then do something that had an actual message. Maybe she's already lost in the sauce and this persona is slowly becoming her. But what do I know hahah Also, why is she getting hate but for example WAP a song that is literally about the same sexual stuff she raps about has been so extremely popular and got a fckn awarf for being an empowerment song to women or something????
