This is bar none the best play through I’ve seen on here. You can hear every damn note, the actual tone, it’s all up front the way it should be, and you get to actually appreciate the sky high skill and complexity involved and see it in action. We need more of this.

Trivium were one of my first loves in the metal world. Ascendancy came out when I was 14 and I absolutely jumped right in. I kinda fell away from them in the 2010's but discovering they have a great catalog to check through - their riffs have always been sick. Corey has always been a sick player too and just seems like a good dude. This video is great with a raw playthrough tone, too many are just like watching a pre-recording. Respect to you Corey!

That's what a metal song should sound like in playthroughs, without the tons of edits that KZbinrs have been doing all these years, discouraging everyone, making them feel they're not good enough because they can't play whole songs live without a single mistake. Just like Instagram models who edit their photos, they create fake beauty standards and fill people with insecurities.

Thank you, listen I know there are guitar gods all over instagram and youtube. But yeah a lot do a gazillion takes to get a 20 second thing. It definitely takes my music self esteem down.
