Modern is a lot less looked down upon in high level gameplay because it doesn't let them "skip" any of the learning. A lot of the low level gripes about Modern are because they newer beginners do what semi-beginners and intermediate players have to "suffer through" to do combos and shit. It's like people complaining about debt forgiveness because they had to pay off their student debt. At high levels there's a clear distinction between Modern's Easy interactions and Classic's higher damage and neutral tools, but at low level where people aren't playing anywhere near optimal anyways, Modern ends up giving new players easy damage conversions where classic players have to "work" for theirs. I don't think it's perfectly balanced yet, and I think in its current iteration, once people lab out modern, it will be stronger than classic, but not by a huge margin, and there is always room for this to change via patches.

all marisa mains are carried idc wat nobody say😭and wit shuto playin on modern controls it makes it a whole lot worse but i love watching him play so before anybody gets rude i don’t have a problem wit modern control users i jus personal dislike it

I think most ppl dont realize they're still doing the classic inputs on specials for normal dmg. Its basically a classic player w less normals and 1 button supers.
