Phase Shift is caused by certain attacks and changes things from 3D to 2D or vice versa and Synergy is the Mega evolution gauge and Pokemon that don't get megas just get super powered as if it's a mega

Sure someone has mention it, but the concept with this game is that. There is something called Synergy that allows Humans and Pokemon think as one, and act as one. This allows the Pokemon to battle beyond their potential and limits they normally cannot do. Because of this, the Pokemon are able to fight and behave basically how a human would fight and think on the battlefield. Hard to explain as I don't have the game myself, but do know the device they wear allows them to help their Pokemon fight in this fashion. Edit: Also so everyone knows, there is no type advantages in this game. You do not have to worry about weakness.

As there is no real counter attacks in most fighting games...at least ones I've played? Counter-attack are usually players hitting their opponent right after they left themselves open from missing a punch/kick in most fighting games lol.

I'd like to see a revisit episode in the future once you guys get better at the game. The game gets pretty intense once you know what you're doing. As for phase shifts, they are triggered when you perform certain combos. Duel phase is more akin to a standard fighter while Field lets you move in all directions.

This was a nice Smackdown Sunday, but I ask that you guys please revisit this when you know the mechanics. Trust me, this game is much more of a spectacle when you know what you're doing and I feel like I got a good preview for the main event.

It would be great if you guys could do another video of this for Smackdown Sunday. There are several moves and mechanics in this game you guys have yet to explore and I would like to see, like Burst Attacks. I would like to see your guys reaction to all the Pokemon, in this game, Burst Attacks. :)

To clear a few things up: The game runs at 60 FPS usually, but runs at 30 when playing off the GamePad in multiplayer. This can be remedied by playing with two Wii U's connected by a LAN cable. Your Synergy Gauge has nothing to do with your Support Pokemon. When it fills up to max, you can activate Synergy Burst (a powered up state, in the form of Mega Evolution if the Pokemon you're using can Mega Evolve) by pressing L+R. Pressing L+R again while in this form, you'll use your Burst Attack, which is essentially your Pokemon's Super Move. Phase Shifts occur when a powerful enough hit is landed, and the transition you from the Field Phase (full 3D movement) to the Dual Phase (traditional 2D fighting format),and vice versa.

I picked up this game the day it came out (because Shadow Mewtwo card) and, I have to say, I really like it. It's not Splatoon, Mario Kart or even SSB levels of fun IMO but I still think this game is pretty fun in its own right. My Main's Braixen (which I'm glad they chose over Delphox because I like Braixen's design a lot more)

I've seen Pokken at work. On top of those Bursts, there are also super moves for the individual fighters that can be utilized, though I've only seen them used during Bursts. I dunno what kind of beast Bandai Namco just made, but it sure does look interesting. I'd like to see you guys revisit this when you've had more experience and everything unlocked.

When the phase shifts it changes the type of attacks, it will tell you the phase type in the bottom right. if its dual phase its up close fighting, if its field phase its range style attacks. you guys should do the "story" mode

From what I've noticed, after certain attacks connect, you can Phase Shift between a full 3D fighting game and classic Tekken-style 2.5D fighting. I'm not sure what difference that makes, though.

CrimsonSpirit Nothing really. (I can't really say anything since I liked Frontier). It's more of how it came out of nowhere as an alternative to the natural process.

PaceBreaker Productions It came out of nowhere, but it was put to great effect during the final arc and I loved the character development that came from it. If I may sidetrack, I believe a lot of people disliked Spirit evolution in Frontier mainly because there were no normal Digimon partners.

CrimsonSpirit Maybe I'm still bitter over the fact that Tamers dropped everything that came before it. I didn't hate the show - it was okay - but it's elements were let's say "mixed". Funny enough, the fact that there were no normal partners is the reason why Spirit Evolution makes sense in that series. You're given the idea of what you're getting into right from the start rather than a sudden shift. Hybrids can be a good idea -even if they sound like the stuff of fanfics- they just need to be utilized in the right way. For anyone else reading, I'm not arguing (mainly because my points counter each other).

PaceBreaker Productions There was really no other choice but to drop everything else that came beforehand when making Tamers (besides, they establish that Adventure and 02 were TV Shows as well as different dimensions, so they don't fully ignore them) given how 02 ended (fuck 02 btw), so I find that issue to be a minor thing. The shift into Biomerging didn't really affect anything. Sure, we saw the previous forms less often, but that's par for the course. What's the big deal?

The background"story" is that this area yyou fight in is a specific field that negates type weaknesses and immunities, which is why fighting type moves work on ghosts etc. Did I hear someone say "cop out"? But well they needed some reason to make it fair I guess...

This casual showcase by SGB really shows just how unique and different Pokken is. The name may imply Pokemon x Tekken, but trust me: It isn't. If you don't spend some time going through the tutorials, you'll do worse out there that flinging your arms around. And unlike Smash, you can't freely switch between Pokemon because each one's SO different from one another despite the similar controls. It's not a super expert fighting game by any means, but if you don't spend some time understanding its mechanics, then you can kiss that championship belt goodbye along with any kinda fun you can have with Pokken.
