This is actually a VERY simplified version off all the different games since each game has drastically different mechanics, there are still unique mechanics from each series present but for the most part everyone is streamlined such as universal inputs for supers and specials. This game is more towards fan service and spectacle fighters but if you want the more deeper mechanics of each series, then its better to play the series specific games.

To answer your question on the 2 Blazblue characters whose background you asked for (though you probably don't give a shit at this point): Makoto: A squirrel girl that enlisted in the military academy (NOL) to help her family with financial issues. She is also known as Beastman/Beastkin by normal people and was mostly discriminated because of her species. She eventually became friends with some of the fighters in her school and made her way into the Intelligence Department of the NOL. When it comes to fighting, she prefers up close and personal duels with her tonfas. Platinum the Trinity: She/He (body is never confirmed) is sort of an odd case. There are 3 souls inside the body as you and the rest of the cast have already guessed. Luna who is bratty girl that insults everyone except her master (Jubei, the cat that was in this video). Sena who is a nice, polite boy that tends to try and calm Luna down. And then there's the 3rd and most important soul, Trinity Glassville, who is one of the Six Heroes. Trinity was mortally wounded in the past by one of the heroes, but she sealed her soul in her weapon and later the weapon created a body for her (I think). Though it's never explained where Luna and Sena came from, some speculate the perpetrator that wounded Trinity had something to do with it. Her weapon is a Nox Nyctores (very important weapons in the past) called "Muchorin" that can "give form to matter" meaning magical girl attacks in any shape or form.

No I meant Kazuma... Unless I am wrong, (which lets be honest its very easy to get some stuff confused on the blazblue plot) Terumi is the original being within Susanoo who has two vessels that allow him to interact with the physical world (at least before Takemagahara got taken down and he could self observe) Kazuma- A vessel that was made during the calamity war and was great friends with the sages and the six heros, who after extensive manipulation from Terumi ends up helping him to break Nine's spell killing her and hurting trinity. He was eventually thrown into the boundary bound with Terumi getting lost there forever. After some time, considering it was the boundary and there was enough sethir for Terumi to split, he leaves Kazuma for dead bringing us to Hazama- the second vessel created who rose to captain of the NOL intelligence department. He didn't take alot of convincing and turns out to be just as depraved a being as Terumi and as such was ready and happy to bond with him and form the sadist bros. Eventually they split because of Trinity Terumi gains his own existence and Hazama throws himself in the boundary.

In case you guys were curious about the UNIEL cast... First off, the story involves people getting a new power and this allows them to get new abilities or something to that extent. Hyde: Main hero Linne: Reincarnation of an old princess. Quickest fighter in the game Waldstein: Linne's protector and basically the grappler of the game Orie: Prissy rapier user with a Persona like assist. Is actually undercover for the good guys Gordeau: Part time bartender who wields a scythe and has worked with the bad guys Carmine: Fights with blood. Basically does not give a damn about anything... at all Vatista: Robot like creature that is watching all this go down In the near future, DLC will come in and introduce three more fighters from this game... Merkava: Sentient form of the power mentioned in the beginning of this post. Basically this game's take on Faust/Arakune Yuzuriha: Laid back swordswoman who, despite being so laid back, is a damned good Iaido user Mika: Orie's best friend and basically one of the more disliked members of the cast

I love how my team for this game is actually aeigis and nu. 13 and at 12:45 there both being played in opposition. And with nu she is a very zony character with her mid projectile and also taking advantage of her teleportation zoom so you can come close grab and mid combo. There is quite the learning curve on this game, certainly. It's difficult to learn all the commands, but once you do, you can play just about anyone semi-competently. except Rachel. still the most technical character ever.

My favorite team up is Noel/Aigis since it goes to a certain web series I watch in which two characters fight each other to the death and that happens to be my most wanted matchup.

And actually in this game there is a light, medium, heavy in this game it’s just the circle(/A for switch) does not have a standing heavy and is instead a team burst. You still have crouching and jumping heavies. Just to clarify since it looks like they didn’t know that

And there’s a mechanic in this game called cross burst that allows you to use your teammate to break a your opponents combo and you do it by using both the assist and tag out buttons. And it uses those 2 bars on the bottom.

Makoto is a beastkin, she is basically only relevant because she is Noels friend and she cares a LOT for her and Noel is extreamly important, so she basically moves to help Noel as much as she can Platinum is 2 souls in one body, Luna a girl and Sena a boy, artificially made by the third soul on the weapon one of the Six Heroes, Trinity Glassfille, and no she didnt exactly hikacked the body, Terumi killed her and she used her weapon to reach them and then reach her goal, basically revenge, by the way, without Trinity soul near, Luna and Sena become more agresive until the end of Chronophantasma where something was done to fix that of her, as for her powers, its the weapon actually, its powers is to create matter in exchange for memories, in a nutshell, a bit more to it but basically thats it
