Definitely Billy Joel's most underrated masterpiece. You've really done it justice. I love how you do the blend and really emote the feeling of the song. I can listen to it forever.

+MistaTwigz Thank you so much. I was really surprised about the song when I first heard it. Why is this nog on his double best of album?! This is such a wonderful piece of music. Then again, he has an awful lot of beautiful music... can't put them all on the album I guess :). Thanks for the kind words!

+Sonny Vande Putte In an interview Billy was asked what his most underrated song was and he literally walked over to the piano and just started playing this song. It is on his greatest hits album, but that album has quite literally 50 songs on it out of the 121 with lyrics that he wrote and produced.

+Luke Cocchi Thanks for that story! This song means so much to me; I wish I could tell that to Billy Joel. I can't, so I'll tell Sonny. HEY SONNY! This video is a perfect rendition of the perfect song. I'm elated and in pain at the same time. And maybe I'd better write this up at the top, too, to be sure Sonny sees it.

This is...beautiful. I am so conflicted. On one side I just want to listen to it for the rest of the day. On the other side it makes my heart bleed. So strange that music can make us feel things so strongly. There is no love without the inevitable loss. That is what this song makes me feel. Its still worth it though. Even if the pain of loss is looming on the distant horizon. Thank you for this wonderful performance. I usually have to finish it with a view if your 76 trombones to cheer myself up afterwards :)

I love this cover of And So it Goes, it's my personal favorite. I like it more than The Kings Singer's version because you actually take the time to sing the song. The Kings kinda just march right on through at a pretty fast pace which kinda doesn't really do it for me, but you take time with the song and make it sound amazing.

That a lot of questions for one simple answer: Playback. Like almost everybody out there I lip sync the video. Beats a guy siting at his desk behind a mic with giant headphones on his noodle in my opinion :).

Awesome, Sonny. I grew up with SPEBSQSA (now BHS) so this kind of thing is dear to my heart. My father sang in quartets and choruses for over 50 years, and even as young kids, my dad, mom, brother and I always sang four-part harmony in the car. By the time I was 10, our family quartet performed for church and community gatherings. As an adult, I have continued as a long-time vocal harmony performer, and have also done some studio multi-track 4-part like this -- and it's quite a rush! You never have to worry about whether the "other" voices are going to hit their notes, or stray from arrangement, style, or interpretation!) We just lost Dad six months ago, so hearing you is a gift...thank you. In harmony, ~NK~

Wow! Chills, chills, and more chills! I was and still am a HUGE fan of your first version of this, but this one takes the cake. You somehow managed to improve upon the dynamics of the first version, and the crescendos, decrescendos, and slight tempo changes before you sing "and you can have this heart to break".... Just perfection! The vocals are as solid as ever, but the dynamics REALLY bring this piece to life and insist that the listener feel some sort of emotion. Absolutely perfect!

Oh! And as a second bass myself, I really enjoyed your singing the lower octave note at the ends of some of the measures and at the end of the song. Again, it adds a touch of extra feeling and an excellent touch of dramatic dynamic to the overall piece.

What makes this brilliant is the way the arrangement has compressed the range, taking out octaves and generating some delicious crunches. Like the reworked video also!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I used to be an active barbershop lead. Nowadays I don't get further than me recording myself 4 times. I hope I'll be able to be in a quartet again in the future though. Nothing beats ringing some chords with other people :)

This is incredible! I will be sharing this on facebook! This is the BEST acapella version of this song on the internet. 2nd place is your previous version. Extremely talented.

This is my favorite Billy Joel song and this version just blows me away. Absolutely beautiful! I'm a pianist and I have to disagree with the poster that referenced the different beat measures. I love the differences and think it adds dimension to the song. Again I'll say...absolutely beautiful!
