when I listen to this song, I always imagine two similar scenarios in a historical fantasy cdrama: 🎶First scenario: where the heroine disguises herself and lives her life as a man, but when the first night of the annual festival arrived, she dresses back as a woman with a veil and goes to town to enjoy herself in secret, unable to resist the joyful music, she joins the crowd and musicians and starts to dance and sing so elegantly as some kind of fairy and everyone including those she knows are watching so mesmerized by her fantastic performnce. 🎶Second scenario: is similar but instead of the town streets, it occurs inside the imperial palace, where everyone was waiting for the entertainment group to start their performance in front of the imperial family, but due to some unexpected circumstances the main dancer and singer is nowhere to be found, so to save the entertainment group's lives and performance, the heroine dresses back as a woman with a veil and performs flawlessly and captures the hearts of everyone in the palace watching the play. 😍 I really love and enjoy both scenarios iny head every time I listen to this song it's just so magical!

The story is about the mountain goddess xiwangmu. She attained immortality and was the ruler of the world, living with her red leopard on the top of the mountain. She loved a mortal and fell in love with a man and her immortality became a curse, because one day he died eventually and couldnt accompany her till eternity. Now she is left there all alone, guarding the world. She found him in his rebirth and knew that he is the one, but unfortunately he couldnt recognize her now, like any other mortal would. This song describes her sadness and her cursed immortality losing the love of her life.
