I have just finished the fourth month in Kathy Schmitz' block of the month and I wish I had seen this video sooner. I'm going to try this method.

In your other comment we see that you are using a dark fabric! You may be interested in getting a white marking tool to trace your design! This white pencil is great for dark fabrics and is easily erased with a damp cloth or polymer eraser White Fabric Pencil: bit.ly/WhitePencilShabbyFabrics

Great technique. Side note on using the Frixion pens... as a former fabric rep I was in quilt stores almost daily and learned a lot. One store owner told me she spoke with Pilot, the maker of Frixion pens, and was told the white line you see on dark fabric after ironing off the markings is like a waxy substance and once you wash your project the white line will go away. And as for the lines reappearing in freezing temperatures... yes, it does. I used Frixion pens to make notes on my fabric sample cards because I could iron the note off and rewrite as need be. While in central Oregon the temperature dropped to -5 degrees. My fabric bags were in my car overnight. Sure enough, notes I had written on fabric sample cards and then ironed off came back! They were somewhat faint, but they could be read.

If you live in Minnesota you have a freezer every time you go outside. Had this happen with those pens.

Love this but was wondering if there are any patterns to do this that are the alphabet, especially cursive letters or perhaps caligraphy letters? if so does Shabby Fabric carry them or know where the letter patterns can be found?

Unfortunately we do not have any letter patterns here. Your local craft store might though! ~Leah🙃

What is the ironing board you are ironing on?

Thanks for the questions joan s! The board Jen is using is the Cut'N Press II Board. Here is a link to that product on Joann's Website but you could probably find this item on Amazon as well! www.joann.com/june-tailor-quilter-s-cut-n-press-ii-board/728154.html
