Agree with you on the shadow orbs. It feels great when I wait 12 seconds at the start of the fight to get a single orb so I can finally do full dmg, and there is nothing I can do about that rng. Wish the chance to get an orb from MF/SW:P would increase with mastery.

In t13 4p your apparitions and shadowfiend will gen 3 orbs with each hit so there is no waiting anymore but sadly it is so late into the content

Any good WA suggestions when to refresh the last dot? general rule of thumb to me has been under 3 seconds but maybe im clipping when i shouldnt. Also, you taught me today Flay has finally been fixed. When did they fix it?

Can you explain the Mind Flay tick ? I'm not really sure how it works still.

@@kimandersen6174Let’s say mind flay has 10 ticks per channel. If you break your channel at 9 ticks, the 10th tick will be transferred to your next mind flay, giving it 11 ticks. This only works on the final tick and it also applies with your DoT’s. It is a passive called “Pandemic”

What addon are you using for floating combat text ? It shows up in a different position for you than mine does and it makes things easier to see. Mines just default and comes from my character.

no you still want it. only casting MF -> MF is fixed with this. But mind flay into any other spell is when you want to have FQ

hmmm, I'm guessing shadow orb # 2 and 3 do not increase damage as i thought it did. I was thinking you get to 3 shadows orbs, mind blast and update dots.

It'll only increase the dmg of the next mindblast with more orbs, but the periodic dmg increase is the same.

Wait, have I been misunderstanding pandemic this whole time? I thought your next tick, regardless if it’s the last tick or not, gets added to the beginning of the refreshed dot.

Yeah I think a tick gets added regardless but the point is to time it in the last tick so you don’t lose damage. I.e if VT has 5 ticks and you cut off the last tick then you have a 4 tick VT and a 6 tick VT. But if you cast your second VT before the 4th tick in the first cast then you have a 3 tick VT and a 6 tick VT so you lose a tick of damage in your casts. The point is to maximize your damage by never losing a tick

You should clip mind flay at 2 ticks for any spell with a higher priority. But it’s extremely minor and not a big deal if you don’t do it

You get dual spec at lvl 30. Just have a healing and shadow spec. I haven’t done a low level dungeon in a long time tbh

The shadow priest discord has a fix for Quartz pinned in the addons and weakauras channel. If you want to use quartz then go there and download the pinned file

Dots haven’t changed at all. The stats on your character when you cast them is what they have for the full duration, except for dots that get refreshed through other spells

Shadow orbs are the worst thing they could've done to the spec. I have fights where it procs on first pain tick and other fights where I cast mindflay 15 times before a proc. It makes every single pull like 90% RNG if you do well or not. not only on the opener though. you can have massive dry spells in the middle of a fight too and get no orbs whatsoever and empowered shadows can fade and if you get trinket procs you still want to fish for an orb before snapshotting because it's just that big of a difference. this completely ruins the flow of your rotation. any fight where there is multiple enemies you pretty much want to get pain out immediately. I'd say at about 4 targets with pain the chance of getting 3 orbs before empowered shadows wears off is pretty high and this will massively increase mind blast damage especially if you crit which you can mindspike a non primary target to get the increased crit chance. and if you have all item procs rolling it could be worth it to just double mindspike go back to primary target and instant mind blast for the guaranteed crit with huge damage multipliers.

I dont have much time for WoW this summer, just wondering how long it takes to go from 80-85 as spriest? How much time is needed for dailies to get pre-raid gearing? Im not looking to get BiS.
