This is a quote by Mark Twain, but yes it’s absolutely true. ❤ Full quote… “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”

I am Iranian-American and this was such a wonderful vid! Everything you said is very true- each country in the ME has its own culture and depending on where you are, norms change (as a Persian the taxi/chaotic driving rules are spot-on though LOL). The Middle East is so misrepresented in the media and it's awesome to see someone who loves the culture explain their perspective.❤️

With all due respect to the other places you have lived and experienced, this is the first place I’ve heard you really, REALLY excited to talk about. I know you have your host family there and great memories, but perhaps Jordan is where you are meant to be? My mom traveled to Jordan a few years ago, before she passed away. She absolutely loved it there. The best people, best food, safe, so much culture. So glad you’re enjoying yourself. 💕😊

@@taylorwynn 👋 Taylor. Amazing wonderful so educational video here. Thank you so much, and I hope to see more of your videos on traveling and living other places💕 I have a question with the Elf camo powder. You said the shade you used is too dark and it lists it as 150C in your description. The shades are so wonky in this powder foundation, and I typically can wear exactly your shade, or a shade down when we aren’t in the middle of winter. Can you tell me which shades for that powder you can get away with, because they are out of 150c a lot. Are there any other ones that work for you?

as someone who grew up in a famous place with many world renowned landmarks, we also had the attitude of "why go see it who cares." most of them were places we were forced to go on field trips, if at all. i think its because we all take for granted our homes in a lot of ways.

You’re right about learning about other cultures. I’ve got 2 Muslim boys in my class this year, and I’ve learned so much from them and their families.

Thank you so much for sharing about Jordan. It is so fascinating hearing about another culture and learning about what it is really like there. You seem so happy and comfortable in Jordan. Your host family sound like really kind and loving people. I love how this culture is so connected to family. Your makeup came out so pretty! Your brows look amazing. I am so happy to hear that the Makeup Forever foundation is vegan. I saw when this foundation came out but didn't think it was vegan or cruelty free so I kind of skipped over it, but now I really want to try it. Thank you for sharing those facts. It looks so flawless on you. Can't wait to see your next video!

Insightful, informational, fun, real and respectful. I love all your videos for all of those reasons but this one……put Jordan on my bucket list. Thank you for for that and of course all the makeup (and sunscreen!) recommendations. 😁

One of my majors in college was Middle Eastern Studies and I took Intensive Farsi for two years. Ended up being the equivalent of 4 years. So true about if you don't use it you loose it. There are too many misrepresentations in the media. I loved Persian/Iranian culture. I wish more people spent time outside their bubble.

I’m Korean and moved to the states when I was about 3. I used to be fluent in Korean. I don’t speak in Korean much, or have a chance to hear or write it and I’ve lost so much of it. Language is definitely something that needs to be used or it’s forgotten

It is so interesting to hear from another westerner who likes the arab culture. I worked as a nurse in Saudi Arabia for 5 years and came to love prayer call. Sometimes I imagine that I hear it drifting thru the window. I really enjoyed my time in Jordan which I traveled to on different occasions. t's really funny how much you don't know about anyone--you like the middle east! Hooray! xo

Not to sound like a mom (though I am), as someone whose spent all of her twenties and early thirties internationally traveling, the one thing I wish I did more of is buying more art from the various countries’ local artists. It’s a nice memory to put in the future home you create roots in, supports local artist while being fairly less expensive. Choose art you truly admire rather than buying for the sake of buying. There’s usually always a street artist or neighborhood of artists to explore.

Honestly, i wish i lived in that culture. Having a 3 year old, with very limited, individualistic cultural parenting style...it is so hard and isolating. The communal, family centric values are so appealing and i think way healthier! 💕
