Make no sense saying that, since the fascists WoL and Scions who work for Super Hytler never showed any care or interests for the real life they were ripped out of, not even the WoL who is directly told to have been a real human once, but nope, why should a person care for such a revelation, when you can be a good brainless merecenary and mass murder for your genocidal leader to keep her 10.000 year Reich intact, right? Emet did not even have any reason to fight, even less lose, he also got zero reason to help the WoL to destroy all hope for healing the planet and the life on it forever and just keep it dying until it will pretty son be destroyed forever with nothing able to keep the bleeding fragments alive anymore or even more save the dying shards. FF14 is an absolute disgusting story, written like the wet dream of a fascists writing a story about how awesom genocide and torture is. Imagine someone would look at humandkind (which is in general 10000 times worse then the ancients) and then just decide: yeah, we first murder all humans and all other life on the planet, than take the biomass and form some "new race" out of it, that constantly dies, constantly has to and wants to kill and fight, is sick, distorted, but all this as plan, because this will somehow create some chosen super hero to beat something up the original, undistorted, untortured life you have easily beaten without any problem, but let's just ignore this. And people cheer for that garbage and likely even take it as a lesson. 1. Genocide is cool. 2. Torture is cool. 3. War is cool and easy. 4. Always listen to orders, never question them, if your leader tell you to mass murder for violent other people you don't know, just do it. 5. Never care for anything, especially not your own life or have an own opinion or try to understand things, just nod. That's the great lessons from FF14, written like war propaganda for children as order of the Japanes government.

Terrible writing, but it's not even the worst, in Endwalker they went all the way to whitewash planetar genocide and endless torture. Disgusting. FF14 is one of the most disgusting stories I know, on the level of RL books like A. H. Mein Kampf. A story made to sell genocide, war, fascism and torture of those you see as subhumans as fine and right. And you guys eat and cheer for it, happy to be the "uberhuman" in the story and easily stomp the "subhumans" - sure, only by plot armor, but it doesn't change this fact. Imagine cheering for a story that sells slaughtering all humans and using their biomass to create a new race, that is utterly distorted , short lived, driven by violence and illness, doomed to die and that over and over and over again until the outbleeding shards will fail for good (especially with no one around to save them anymore) and that for the mere goal to create some super soldier to beat something that would have been no problem to beat in the first place. Hell, not even that certain german leader was THAT insane. That this comes from a Japanes company, with Japan's own history in 2.WW just makes it worse. It's like they try to whitewash their own history and brainwash children to cheer for such super fascism.

Remember, after absorbing the light from Vauthry the Exarch said it was too much for one soul to bear. When Ardbert merges with you now you have two souls. And when Emet said let us cast aside all titles and pretense his is the only fight where it just says his name Hades with no other descriptors like every other boss.
@gavinrad120 күн бұрын
Close but not quite. There have been 7 shards successfully rejoined to the source so the PC is 8/14ths of an Amaurotine soul (possibly 9/14ths depending on what happened to the piece of you from failed attempt to rejoin the Thirteenth). Ardbert is the 1/14th of your soul that was split into the First, the merger brings you 1/14th of the way closer to your pre-sundered state which is why Emet Selch briefly sees your Amaurotine form before dismissing it as a trick of the light.

Lead writer Natsuko Ishikawa is so good at setting up emotional heymakers that just blindside you and then hit you in a straight up barrage. Like it's not just ONE big thing, it's several, near-simultaneously, and those things just leaves you floored. The post-Vauthry fight stuff is a perfect example of just emotional. She also works directly with the lead composer Masayoshi Soken since they're close friends, to ensure maximum emotional damage.

"Remember us" is still one of the best things I have ever experiences. It completely destroys me each time. I cannot help but feel horrible for the Ancients. The tragedy, the sorrow... Maaan.

I have to admit, whoever came up with the idea at YoshiP's team to have Graha "summon" your other 7 team members was absolutely on point. That moment was very hype and had me pumped for the fight.
@zeehero7280Ай бұрын
Emet did NOT want that to happen. but his plan did have contingencies for it happening since he did think it was likely. What emet sees when he looks at your soul, makes him REALLY WANT to believe in you. even if what he is believing in is the wrong thing.

Shadowbringers was a brilliant piece of storytelling as good as anything FF has had in the past. I loved ARR, HW, and StB, but Shadowbringers was definitely the peak for me (and there's still a few more truly great story beats to come). Now, blasphemous opinion time: Endwalker was substantially inferior to ShB and HW, maybe even below StB. It leaned far too heavily on simplistic emotional payoffs instead of the more complex arcs in ShB, and none of its villains had the depth or investment Emet-Selch did. Plus it broke major canon elements and left the plot stuck in a temporal paradox.
@psymar3 күн бұрын
What paradox? It's a closed loop. The expansion that added a paradox was Shadowbringers with Exarch coming back from the future where we died
