One thing I found really interesting is how in every preview, you were the top DPS (and if not, you were REALLY close). I think it subconsciously put the meter-heads at ease, and just allows them to look at the pros and cons.

Came back to BFA in preparation for Shadowlands like two weeks ago, already switched my "main" five times. Dropped out warrior, rogue and mage already. Now I'm thinking about maybe maining a WW and having a DK alt... Will have to get a feel for enhancement when the prepatch hits, because the current live version is just awful.

Shadowlands is going to be very alt friendly supposedly, so may be an idea to try all of them before the first major content patch hits and see which you prefer rather than deciding beforehand.

I will say I did play survival a bunch in BFA and even raided with it in Legion. It’s a really fun spec, you fly everywhere, throw bombs and generally chase bosses. It’s really fun to play. It just sucks when it comes to meters and being useful. I went raiding in legion from middle of the pack survival to top DPS with BM. That’s how punishing it is if the boss does just about anything that prevents you from doing your normal rotation.

survival indeed had good cleave and aoe but it isn't bound by cds, and the utility is better than the other two specs (15 sec interrupt, instant freeze trap when cast from melee, a working misdirection - which mm has too but loses pet utility like st pet-stun and a hero)

Im for sure going Dk this xpac. Theyre going to scale so hard with the new mastery and frost 2h obliterates. If for whatever reason unholy becomes better for a raid tier or PVP i will spec into it. Both are some of the most fun and badass specs to play in the game

Alex V yes, I’m going to keep an eye on this. I haven’t completely thrown my Shaman in the trash yet. I just don’t want to lose flash and frenetic speed of it. On live, it’s as frenetic as Fury, without giving me carpel tunnel...which I appreciate.

The only issue I had with the video is that you mentioned warriors wont be bringing any CC potential. The Nightfae is a beefed up shockwave skill, In MoP it was hugely helpful skill. Its not tied to the class inherently itself, thats true, but there is definitely more to choose than just the Venthyr.

Have always been surprised that they don't give an unique advantage to survival over their ranged specs. There's so much baked in convenience into hunter ranged specs for them to keep up or pass up survival's damage. They need something better. Like a better version of crimson vial called Bandage Wound or something. I love the theme of survival, and their bombs, but their rotation just feels like a mess.

They used to when they first were released. They were the only spec with traps I believe, and then the made it improved traps with smaller cool downs, then I think they removed that for whatever reason. I do miss caltrops

When it comes to survival, I love the whole grenade thing and this makes it a more fun ranged spec than melee lol. All they need to do is make a ranged interrupt and add a ranged shot ability. Also now that other classes can weapon swap, they should be able to go through melee and ranged weapons in a fight.

I cant se any reason to do that. its thematicaly weird, gcd hungry, range limited for melee class as support spell, its complicated to time it propperly with cds and its not only covenant with additional mobility. I feel like your feral overview is a bit outdated , yes feral was known for its "spinning plates" playstyle, but awhile back in BfA it was changed to much easier rotaion, and alot of feral community dislike it , on single target you basically apply your bleeds once and only bite (bite will refresh your spender bleed). AoE is pretty straightfoward as well, so its actually lacking alot of feral uniqueness atm

@@erkislerk as far as I know, only major changes were changes to berserk and bloodtalons, and sabertooth nerf, as far as rotation goes its not changing much. If anything its easier now, since you don't have to cast regrowth now for.bloodtalons. even tho yes you will have to reapply bleeds at some point, its nowhere near as complex as it was in legion for example. And the biggest problem still relevant, the top damage is still bite and shred, not bleeds, which makes feral niche as multitarget specialist not a thing. Correct if I'm missing anything

Excited for my windwalker and enhancement playings. :) Also, Survival, even if I wish they added utility to it. Not excited for my rogue - given how blizz budgets balance, Slice and Dice is a terrible reintroduction of passive gameplay whose damage budget could be put elsewhere. :(

Meh, at the very least attach some sort of energy regen to it, like an extra 5 energy per second while slice and dice is active or maybe refund energy when using abilities. Energy regen kills the fluidity of Sin who relied heavily on Memory of Lucid Dreams during the last half of BFA until we Expedient 3'd all of our gear. I understand that with more haste, Sin gets more energy... but it's the lowest stat on the priority list now.

I definitely think windwalker has lost a lot of it's charm since the legion class reworks I still main it but it feels a lot less satisfying to play. I don't personally think that combo strikes makes it any more interesting to play it feels more like a restriction than a class feature to me. They took a fun, complex class and made it into another boring 2 button class then put in combo strikes that creates an illusion of difficulty that translates into press tiger palm then blackout kick repeat until you can burst or press RSK on a 9 second cd. Feels like 2 steps forward 1 step back gain 2 chi with tiger palm lose 1 with blackout kick until you have full chi that mechanic alone feels clunky to me. Give us all buttons back please bliz. Like expel harm is cool and all but we're gonna need more than that.

How to choose your melee main: Don't. There's enough melee mongos in the game, you'll have a lot of trouble finding groups and will get benched during progression. On top of that M+ has become more unfriendly towards melee; and rightfully so, they had very few affixes to worry about compared to rdps. Do the World (of Warcraft) a favor and pick any other role to main; it will make life easier for you as well.

Helpful analysis for returning players, but please refrain from saying idiotic things like "Frost is much more easier than Unholy". Unholy is the entry spec for DKs, designed to be picked up and played by any newcomer. The spec basically plays itself, with its slowness only helping you. Frost is simple, but requires much better quick decisionmaking if we're talking about Obliteration, and a lot harder to manage and master if we're talking about BoS.
