Thanks so much for this. I've recently returned to the game, with the intention of running mythics in Shadowlands with a small group of friends/family. I've volunteered to be the group healer but I've only had experience of Resto Shaman, but really drawn to both Resto Druid and Disc Priest. I've got all 5 healing classes ready to go for SL, and this has helped me focus a bit on which one I'll focus on first - probably the Druid, but with the Disc Priest being levelled second to practice with.

Resto Shaman has alot of utilities which I love. Definitely leaning towards Shaman for SL!

Disc priest requires the player to always at its best performance, making it really hard to "chill". Also, disc are very gear dependent since higher the gear = more dmg you make = more heal you make. Will give monks a try. I loved the 8.0 patch monk style but after 8.1 changes make me completely hate it.

Well I’ve got to decide myself between priest, monk, paladin, Druid, or shaman. Which basically means all of them. Thanks for the guide. I am thinking of giving Mistweaver or Disc a try. I was Disc in BFA, but it’s sort of a very stressful spec. While it is good, I honestly might not like it as much.

What healer class has high burst aoe and dot heals. So something that can just keep popping heal overtime aoes. I'd also like to be able to shield my allies or mitigate damage somehow from them at least a little. But my main priority is to make sure there's a heal overtime going around on everyone so I don't have to be constantly worrying about others and I can just use a simple loadout and pop moves when I need too. I'm a very caring person and I want more than anything for others to feel encouraged, positive and comfortable and I'll do anything I can to help others with that. Helping, and giving to others is what I enjoy the most. But it would also be nice to find a healer that fits my playstyle so I can better help others. The only reason why I want to get strong in video and find a class that fits my playstyle is so I can help and project others in any way I can. So I'd appreciate any help.

From what I’ve gathered by watching videos and reading stuff, i think what you’re looking for is a resto Druid. Apparently they have hot heals, but also have heals where you can burst heal one person. I have the same play style as you, and i was looking more into holy priest but i think resto Druid is best for both you and i…. But i also have no prior experience with the game, this is just what I’ve read and watched

So i have no knowledge on WoW but i wanna get into it. I used to play final fantasy online but i prefer the looks of WoW to it. But in final fantasy, i was a white mage and LOVED it. Would resto Druid be sorta similar??

36:28 Mistweaver mastery doesn't have a chance to heal a second time, but it instantly heals the target every time you cast certain healing spells on them. Or are there changes in beta I have missed? Thanks for the video, really helpful sum-up

I consider going Holy Priest. Can you recommend it to a beginner? Started on wow mid bfa. Also, I read a lot of bad things about holy priest, do you think it will be a bottom tier spec, and therefor hard to get groups?

My raid leader/guild leader is a holy priest actually. He is actually really good at the spec, even more than most other healers and often out performed most healers in Heroic and Mythic raids. People will talk up how good proactive healing is but in terms of reactive raid healing, holy priest is the best. Many kind of dismiss it for the attractive disc priest, but honestly our RL carries way more than any other healer. From my experience, I have an alt priest I used half of BFA. I chose holy at first but switched to disc later. No real reason other than we had 2 holy priests in the raid. I just wanted to add variety by switching to disc. Disc is much harder to learn though and it’s an entirely proactive mind set. You won’t be doing heals if you don’t have lots of atonement up first. Holy will let you raid heal easier and honestly the skill ceiling is pretty good.

I would recommend MW monk as it's really easy to play healer, can burst one target from 0 to 100% in seconds. But as mentioned in this video, mana management is something where newcomers can struggle. It's not that hard to manage but need some practice. Also, Holy Paladin has relatively easy mechanics and mostly infinitive mana. Both MW and HolyPala are welcome to M+.

Yes, Holy Priest is the easiest healer in my opinion, you mostly only need to focus on healing, and will have no other distractions. All the other healer specs have something extra, as the video says, that you need to always pay attention to and manage, so if you want to get into healing, and are looking for an easy spec, Holy Priest is for you.

A lot of mouse over macros yes, in this video I was only using Elvui as addon though.

You can do that with many Unitframe addons. Such as elvui, healbot, tukui. Also the default Raid UI for 5-man parties works and looks pretty good.

You need to complete the story in all four zones to be able to do end game content. Even if you level with dungeons you will have to do the storyline to pick a covenant on your first character and progress.

If you choose resto shamman, don't overlook cloudburst totem, learning how to use and abuse cloudburst is essential.

This isnt Legion, the healing of Cloudburst totem has been lowered significantly due to the loss of Ancestral Guidance as well as Cloudburst Totem replacing HST. Just play resto druid or resto shaman. Easier for dungeon healing or raid healing. 😆!! Blizzard didn't tell people that holy pally sucks at raid healing or group heal if you don't actually melee the boss to death while trying to healing. Disc priest healing suck if you don't know when boss is going to drop a death bomb on the raid or group. Disc healing is just shit right now. Can't even top off people with normal atoment dmg. You have to shadowmend to actually top off your group when big dmg drop.

Nice video but damn that jumping around like a fool was so annoying. Half the time on Hpala you was out of melee range doing nothing. I get this isn't a tutorial vid but at least show these specs being used properly.
