My ex was buying a car at the local slimeball used lot. They had a "KBB" printed out with all kinds of options that the vehicle did not have. The sales dude literally says. "If you bring in 500 extra for down payment we will take 500 off the sale price so that is like getting 1000 off. I literally looked him in the eye and said bro I know basic math.

The arrogance KIa dealers had a couple years ago when I was looking for a Telluride will assure that I never step foot on a Kia lot again. And I'm in Florida as well. I sold new BMW/Mini's for a year back in 2003 to get some 1 on 1 sales experience, so your videos are so cool to watch as I have been on both sides of the negotiation. And I'm guessing this is Vero Beach Kia.

Completely waste of time. They think customer are literally idiots

I agree with you. Dealerships dont want to give you numbers because they dont want you to shop around.
@dalenihiser776620 күн бұрын
More so, as a former salesman myself, I want that LAST LOOK. My percentages to close a sale go way up if I can get that guy or gal to shop the competition then come back to me for that last look. Keep it professional and turn it into a friendly challenge. Plus the percentages of that guy or gal returning to the dealer who gave them first, second or even third look go way down. Let's be honest, sales is a percentage and control game and as a salesperson, I want to keep the odds in my favor. Now if that guy or gal are diligent and they give me that LAST LOOK, I will reward them.
@RookieRider9319 күн бұрын

Here in Alberta, Canada we have AMVIC. It's straight up illegal practice to advertise an online price here using rebates to lower the price that not everyone can qualify for. In fact, this dealership is breaking a TON of laws that would get them closed down real quick in my Province. It's scary LOL. Also, at my Toyota dealership, we ONLY sell at MSRP, and we have the lowest Doc fee in the entire Province, and every salesperson makes over 100k a year unless they're green peas. MSRP works. Reputation matters. We just sell more volume and are extremely busy all the time.

Being able to negotiate is crucial. I hit a deer last year with my 14 GMC Terrain. I had nationwide and tried to get them to send an adjuster. I ended up getting estimate at local body shop. 4500 Then after that the adjuster came and looked and said yeah its totaled. Insurance company called back and offered me 7000 I said no I want 9500 and not budging. I looked up comps and not many local and around 11-14k. Well I thought I was negotiating for the total amount. What I didnt know is I was negotiating for final payment. THey already paid me out 4500 minus my 500 deductible. Then they paid me 9500 on top of that. I got an extra 2500 on top of what they originally offered.

Oh your milk was in a paper carton standard but we put it in a plastic jug so that is an extra dollar. Oh we added the sealed lid protection package that is another dollar. Buying a car should be as easy as buying milk. Go in decide if you want whole, 2%, 1% or skim then check out, bibbidi bobbidi BOOM done. Having sales people who need to talk to the monkey at the sales floor tower who has to talk to the monkey in a back office is stupid on a whole different level. This dealer doesn't respect their customers and doesn't trust their own staff to work out the sale of a car. @Shoeless_DA20 күн бұрын
I'll be honest, their website 'discount' is kinda ambiguous. If they had the net net price below the itemized deductions, then I would agree with you that they were being disingenuous. But because the net net isn't there, it's possible that the 'discount' quoted is some addition of the itemized ones listed below.
That's because no other business negotiates on the price like the car business....so stop complaining about how hard it is to buy a car. If you want an easy deal, then simply pay the asking price. The consumer is the one who creates the drama in their quest for a better deal by starting the negotiation process.
