The series stars Jonathan Roumie as Jesus, alongside Shahar Isaac, Elizabeth Tabish, Paras Patel, Noah James, and George H. Xanthis. The series used crowdfunding on the Angel Studios platform
Plot: Clashing kingdoms. Rival rulers. The enemies of Jesus close in while His followers struggle to keep up, leaving Him to carry the burden alone. Threatened by the reality of Jesus’ growing influence, religious leaders do the unthinkable-ally with their Roman oppressors. Yellow ribbons go all the way back to the '70s - it represents those who are being held hostage unjustly. The yellow ribbon comes from a song 'Tie a Yellow Ribbon 'Round the Old Oak Tree' by Tony Orlando and Dawn about a man coming back from prison not knowing whether he will be welcome, and he knows he will be welcome when he sees the ribbon on the tree. So this led people all over America to put up yellow ribbons for Vietnam Vets who were finally returning home after being held prisoner for years. Now, 50 years later, the yellow ribbon refers to all prisoners of war or those held hostage.
